Was gonna watch "Us" , but no seats are available until the 11:30pm showing... so i guess the wife wins and we'll probably watch this in 45min.

I liked the 1st Thor. It's not the strongest film in the MCU of course, but at least Hemsworth was great/believable in the role. He was the best part of the film imo. I can't believe it cost $150 mil to make though.

Captain Marvel is the opposite, where Brie is the worst part of the film. It doesn't help her image with others that she's a cunt off screen, but I can separate those things, as I tend love Tom Cruise movies, and that guy's a buffoon. I liked the rest of the CM cast.
 
Is she capable of beating Thor and Hulk? Does she have a more powerful mode?

Alright, we watched this last night. But i want to preface by saying that i was a bit tired, and it also didn't help that i had an 8% IPA right before watching the movie. I had not eaten in about 5hrs, so the beer buzzed me up quick. And i ended up taking small naps throughout the movie.

With that said, i will say that the movie wasn't bad at all. I even thought that brie was charming throughout the movie, and the make up artists did a nice job because she looked pretty in the film. The suit didn't do her any favors though, way too baggy.

From what i can remember, the story wasn't bad. i was a bit confused when i woke up in various parts. But after the wife explained stuff at the end, i got it. I will say that she's OP as fuck. I kind of liked that, and kind of didn't. It worked great for the movie, but not sure how it's gonna work in Endgame, since she seems to be more powerful than them. I love that SS impala that fury drove. The alien cat was funny.

I hope they explain why she's been gone from earth all this time. There's no way it took that long to find those people a home.

Overall, not a bad movie. i guess i have to watch it again to see what i missed. 7/10

Wife and I just saw this. 6/10. I had no idea what to expect going in, I avoided all talk of this film and I don’t care about any off screen or behind scenes BS. That said...,

I was entertained. I might watch it again when it comes on Netflix, but I can’t see adding this one to my bluray collection.

I’ve never read the comics and really don’t know anything about this character so I don’t know what to say about her power levels. Her power makes no sense and has me worried about her in Endgame.

On one hand she was blasting Kree with no effort, but all it seems to do is throw them around. Moments later they’re up and fighting again. Otoh, she suddenly switched up and was flying through a kree starship destroying it as she went through?

Does she have weaknesses? Limits? The movie didn’t make any attempt at explaining her. If they don’t lay out rules for her, she becomes a deus ex machina that can be whatever the lazy writers need. That worries me because it’s boring.

I forgot if it's the Russo brother's who said it, but they said that she definitely has weaknesses. Maybe we'll see it in endgame.

From what I recall, and someone can correct me here, her weakness in modern comics, are her own limits, I think that was in general. You guys remember when she was booted from the Avengers? That might have been Mrs Marvel, happened a of couple times. Her brain basically turned on her, like a self confidence thing, lead to some citizens dying.

Feige says she'll have an achilles heel, I just hope it's more than self esteem lol

Rogue took her powers at one point too, I'd love to see that in an X-Men crossover. I love Rogue!

Other than discovering her identity, she had no real arc in the CM film, making her boring. She was never in trouble, and when she got her full Saiyan powers, she was flawless with them. What garbage writing.

I can't believe Feige greenlit that, but considering Black Panther and Ant Man 2, a lot of shine has come off him. He's managed the MCU exceptionally, but it was the Russo's, Gunn's, and Favreau's of the MCU that made it special.

Calling it now.. Thanos casually grabs her by the pussy and she runs off crying to file a lawsuit against him leaving it to the men to take care of business. Order is restored to the universe once again. You heard it here first.
 
Before watching this movie my expectation for it wasn't as high as it is for other Marvel films. Mainly because the story feels like another Captain America/Dr Strange/Iron Man/Wonderwoman here we go again blah blah blah.
However, I was actually entertained by the story line twist. The plot made viewers thinking the Skrulls were bad and the krees were good. When actually it was the opposite.
Her acting skills was top notch and her chemistrys with Fury and her old pal were believable.
I also like that they didn't introduced another villian with comparable powers as often seen in these type of movies . Captain Marvel is the strongest and it shows her kicking everyone's ass.

Overall 8/10
