I am a junk food addict. If you were to look at me you could barely tell.I found out the other day that one of my relatives just got diabetes(there in their 50's)I eat it around 4-5 days a week.I need advice.Any tips from former obese or addicts will be appreciated.

I feel a diabetes threat/heart attack/double bypass coming.

Lol

I just kicked heroin (for the second time in like 6 months)

But yeah that sugar sure is hard to kick

Edit: tips? I don't think my methadone taper is gonna help you too much

Only you can conquer it through will power. Put yourself in a position where you cannot access it.
That's how I gave up weed. It's how my brother gave up alcohol.

I did that in uni and porked up big time. If you get yourself on a proper diet and reserve the junk for your cheat day you'll enjoy the junk food more and you'll feel better in general.

There you go... Do you want to die?

Self control man, if you can afford to, take a Nutrition class if not gotta do the research yourself, get a little more exercise, walk more, drink more water, take a look in the mirror and decide if you care enough about yourself to really give a fuck and make the effort its on you

I dont know how you do it. I'd feel like shit eating junk all the time. Eat good food, think of fruit as natures candy!

I do the walk around the block thing.I also read ingredients but it's like a compulsion. If I'm bored,I'll eat.If im out running an errand and foods near by,I'll eat.

Nope,it's just reality.

Try hitting up a gym. When I was religiously in the gym my eating habits were on point. Maybe that might help you out. Find an activity that will keep you busy and away from junk food.

Try substituting the crap food for healthy stuff pack things like fruit and nuts around you and snack on that pound a bottle of water to trick yourself into being full , you don't have to put crap in you

Implore your gf to fuck you with a strapon whenever she sees you eating junk food. You will either kick the addiction very quickly, or have lots of fun.

Stop dicking around and just eat better.
It's that simple.

Eat carrots, not cake.

that's funny...i'm addicted to fruits and vegetables.

Try making your own granola bars. That way you can make them as sweet as you'd like (though the popular store brand ones are already super sweet)

Here, I just ate a pomelo, a small bowl of pecans almonds and various seeds, a cup of herbal tea, and I'm waiting on a plate of Vietnamese tofu & vegetables for dinner

Shows that everybodys got their vice, whether it be drugs, alcohol, sex, food, etc. Ive always ate clean yet love the hard drugs

Lol I read that as "eat butter" at first, I was thinking "what kind of advice is that?!"

TS I advise you to stay out of convenience stores and the junk food aisle at the grocery store. Make a list of groceries to buy before hand and stick to it. It takes way more willpower to resist snacking when you have junk food in your house, so just keep your will strong when you're buying groceries and then there won't be any temptation waiting for you at home.

Try and ween yourself off of it. Don't just go cold turkey, instead of 5 times a week only eat out 4 times a week. Do that for 2-3 weeks then only eat 3 times a week, then two ect... Set a goal for yourself so there's something you can picture in your mind whenever you're tempted. Whether that's a certain weight or not eating junk food anymore, whatever, just try and strive for something. A big thing I think people may neglect is portion size as well. Instead of a large fries, burger, and large pop, just get a medium size or better yet a small. Or maybe just get a burger and drink.

Just think when you are eating out "Do I really NEED this? or is it just something I want?"

holy crap. i eat at a restaurant about once a week, and sometimes that feels like too much.

I was trying to push my diet into a significant calorie excess a few months ago, I started eating tonnes of peanut butter. I basically had peanut butter + ryvita + sliced banana with or after every meal and as a snack several times a day. I put on the weight I wanted and am about to take it out of my diet but for the past few months I've had zero cravings for shit food, the healthy fats in peanut butter always left me full and satisfied for the entire day. It might be worth adding it to your diet as a filling snack to see if it helps control your cravings.
