He is 12-8 in his UFC career, and just as bad now as when he was young.

2017 and 2018 should have been the prime years for a fighter at this level and of his age, but Stefan simply cannot improve or evolve in any way. It just seems impossible for him, since he's always been the same all the way back to his early 20s.

Yet, somehow, this very same guy is the only one (that I can think of) who made the most badass HW in the world look like a fool... How did Struve do so well against Stipe of all people?!

It does still leave a big question mark for me, what happens if Stipe can't gameplan a weakness in his opponents style?

You can question whether anyone exists at HW anymore with the skill to present such a challenge of course, I suspect he'd take Struve down more if they fought today.

As far as I remember, Stipe slipped on the floor of the Octagon before Struve could properly finish him, am I wrong? But Struve was dominant in this fight and Stipe improves so well after this loss !

You are remembering it incorrectly, Struve progressively took control of the standup, rocked Stipe several times before the finish by which point Stipe was hurt and wobbly, hence the slip.
