I actually have Crawford as the favorite here. Now keep in mind that I foolishly picked Callum Smith over Canelo.

Crawford has a winner mentality--a lot of Canelo's opponents accept defeat before the first bell. Not saying that is going to be enough, but he is not going to concede anything. Pacquiao did something similar against Cotto.

Just another easy fight for Canelo. Crawford not even acclimated to weight, and your average Joe thinks he got his ass kicked by that guy with 11 pro fights. This is literally the same as Tank possibly fighting Roach/Rayo or Ennis vs guys like Norman or Villa. This would be the first real untainted threat Crawford would ever be facing, but it’s obviously a fucking cash grab financial move to be followed by an uneventful retirement run that will be 0 risk until age wins. Canelo just doing the world tour of guys who can’t beat him some more, so no new intrigue there. Not the fight we want from either.

It’s strange that Crawford didn’t push harder for a Tszyu fight at 154. You’d think he’d want to test out a higher weight before jumping all the way to 168. I mean, if he moved up and found the punches at 154 too hard he’d know to scrap plans for 168.

Testing means risking the 0 and the payday of fighting Canelo, he can go back later and every 154er will still want the fight.

I'm skeptical that it happens. Bud hasn't even fought at 154 yet and last I checked he still owes Spence a rematch. If he does fight Canelo then it'll be at a catchweight. Probably 164 lbs.

Bud doesn't owe Spence anything. Spence has had over a year to activate his rematch claus if he even had it and that's definitely passed. Spence doesn't want that smoke again and the fight wasn't close at all
