I know
I’m guilty of that this morning
But Nazi? It’s just lazy

Now I’m gonna get some work done … before getting my COVID shot <45><45>
Good luck. And remember, bleeding eyeballs and priapism is perfectly normal.

as it pertains to the VAX?
I think everyone should be free to refuse the vaccine if they don't want it.

I also think employers should be free to tell those idiots to find a new job.

Do you believe in medical exceptions for them?

Also a lot of the troubles you’re mad about are because jobs are trying to force people to vaccinate

I’ll be honest even as someone who is very much pro vaccine, has had all their boosters, masks excessively and brings hand sanitizer everywhere, I still don’t think we should be firing essential workers for not vaxing.

That’s their career. And we need help. We can’t sustain the population of these countries with half the essential workers we used to have, that doesn’t work.

They only have 1 move. As mass surveillance increases and our government further completes its merger with corporations we will see any privacy or human rights we have be stripped from us, and any protest will be met with the same response: you're a bigot.

It's depressing that this weak, ham-fisted strategy is working for them but it's not surprising. The propaganda apparatus is so powerful and dedicated to keeping us divided that it's not exactly a shock that it works. It's just a but much to be labelled a racist from a man who has dressed in blackface so many times he can't even count them but this is just how it goes.

i was thinking screeching "racist! white supremacist!" at everything would have gotten old by now but reading through this thread is horrifying. some people simply do not have mental structures that can function outside of that.

Trudeau is a turd, but I don't think his black face costumes came from a place of racism. It's actually pretty stupid how people deem every case of a white person dressing up as a minority as an act of racism.

I dressed up as Mr T for Halloween in 2006 when I was in my 20s. I cut my hair like his and died it black, along with my beard. I also put makeup on my face to look like I was the same skin color as him.

I won 2nd place and $75 at a custom contest that was going on at the bar I was at too. None of this was considered racist then because it wasn't. It didn't come from a spot of hate it came from a spot of me thinking Mr. T was awesome as a kid. This was a time when social media was in its Infancy though.

Well, fortunately for everyone, the overwhelming majority of truckers are vaccinated. The ones that aren't can still work in Canada, they just can't cross the border. Both countries have a mandate, so even if this protest were successful, nothing would change.

99.9% of truckers are at work right now, keeping the supply chain going, and I thank them for it. Those people are essential workers.

The few hundred jerkoffs occupying my neighborhood can absolutely go fuck themselves.

We’re living in a world right now in which our demand is greater than our output. That’s why, imo, the cost of living is going up so much.

If you have a small percentage of truckers who transport internationally, you may rely on them for specific imports or exports. When you limit that specific subset of the workforce, certain business may suffer and the cost of products being transported will go up as the companies relying on them try to stay alive.

Im not saying that proper precautions shouldn’t be taken. By all means, make them wear masks. That, I think most people wouldn’t quit their job over. But mandating vaccinations when it’s become the politically charged topic we have right now doesn’t create a win for anyone. The people who don’t want to get vaxxed, as you can see, still won’t. And I honestly believe the difference made by limiting this specific group that seems to be so small has to be so minor. I really can’t imagine that if all things THIS is the hill to die on. Truckers are crucial to the economy. They might be the single most important cog in the economic chain and it’s not like a Walmart cashier, you can’t easily replace them with automation.

Cool, then get Biden to drop the mandate too. I guarantee if Biden does, Trudeau will too.

Definitely not the other way around.

These protesters make themselves look dumber and dumber by the day. It's nice seeing them get shit on everywhere.

This convoy has accomplished quite a bit actually. On the weekend the Premier of Saskatchewan announced that they’re going to do away with their restrictions soon and yesterday the Premier of Alberta did the same. Jason Kenney said that the first thing to go will be our vaccine passport program, likely by the end of February.

Now all of this would have eventually happened anyway, but the convoy has helped emphasize how many people are dissatisfied with Covid restrictions and given them a unified voice, so while some politicians are refusing to engage these protestors those that aren’t afraid are listening and fast tracking those plans.

Ironically that won’t help the unvaccinated truckers, but it will help a lot of unvaccinated people in Alberta, Saskatchewan and any other province that follows suit to get back to normal.

Not directly right away, but as the other vaccine mandate dominos start to fall, the sooner it gets to their particular domino

It hasn't done anything

Both of those premiers are political opponents of Trudeau. They are also provinces with very low population density, especially Saskatchewan. It's easy for them to lift restrictions. Lower risk of a public health catastrophe, and political gain. It's a no-brainer for them.

For provinces like Ontario and Quebec, the choice isn't so simple.
