Can your eyes recognize that these three shots all landed?

Did any of them hit him perpendicular on the point of his jaw or on the temple or behind the ear or with more than 70% power?

Did any of them snap rotate his head?

Did you miss the bit where it's clearly stated he rolled fairly well with the first two strikes?

Do you even know how KOs work?
(That’s the point he was making)

None of the punches landed

This was not even the same punch sequence.

Different point of the fight

99% sherdoggers are blind, that why they said the fight is close even though Israel clearly dominated the fight and shut down silva entire game

You haven't seen The Matrix have you granddad

Probably not the best scene to use since right after this gif ends he had a bullet glance his leg

In several threads this gif has been posted with comments/titles suggesting the three strikes missed ("OMG, ANDY IN MATRIX MODE AGAIN!!!"), when in reality all three of them landed.

It's in danger of becoming Sherdog's version of the "Yanny or Laurel?" or "Is this dress blue or gold?" memes of recent times.

It's understandable some have become overexcited at this gif, because if you just glance at the sequence (while wearing rose-coloured glasses) it looks like Andy eluded each of the three punches.
  1. The jab connecting is somewhat difficult to clock, since Andy rolls with it fairly well, but once you know what you're looking at you can clearly see it connect with Andy's right eyebrow and knock his head back as Andy's stepping forward.
  2. The easiest one to clock is the right cross, which, although glancing, clearly knocks Andy's head back to the left (with a slight rotation) as Andy begins to bring it forward again after the first strike knocked him back. The illusion is that Andy jerked his head back to make it miss. The truth is what jerked his head was the strike hitting it. Again though, Andy does see it coming and rolls with it, taking some of the sting out of the glancing shot.
  3. The third strike looks to the uninitiated like a double-pumped second cross that whiffs past Andy's ear, when in fact anyone who understands the game can clearly see it's a backfist that connects with Andy's ear. Contrary to this being a "Matrix-like" move, Andy actually moves his head into this shot rather than eludes it. Fortunately there's no juice on the backfist, and Andy lives to fight another day.
Obviously, even though he did get hit a bunch in every round by Izzy, this is still an impressive performance from Andy. He still dealt with Adesanya's striking better than any UFC opponent yet, and did an amazing job to reach the end of the 3rd at 43, after his extended break, against the craftiest striker in the division. It's just that it's not the Old Skool Matrix Andy some Shergoofs are fooling themselves into believing it was.

Or if it was, then Izzy is in the Matrix too, because he hit Andy with each of these 3 shots.

Even if they technically, actually, physically landed they were not damaging shots and Andy was unphased by them. My only explanation for why this thread needed to be made was an Israel fan trying to inflate his fighter's performance

* maybe just a Spider hater

No doubt Adesanya trying to replicate the same side straight punch / hammer fist follow up that Weidman used to KO Andy.
That's what I thought, like he had learned from Weidman how to counter Anderson's clowning.
