I can't remember Silva with a swollen eye before. Dude was getting peppered with punches. He tried that Matrix shit but that matrix shit wasn't working.
It’s the second one that I have trouble seeing...but yeah first and backfist def hit
This is no Forrest griffin moment
Edit. Nm just took me a few more views 2nd clearly lands...in fact if it was a miss I don’t think he would have been able to follow up with the backfist
He rolled those shots they didn't land they way they were intended. Andy went matrix mode and made him miss enough they were in effective. Nice try though manIn several threads this gif has been posted with comments/titles suggesting the three strikes missed ("OMG, ANDY IN MATRIX MODE AGAIN!!!"), when in reality all three of them landed.

It's in danger of becoming Sherdog's version of the "Yanny or Laurel?" or "Is this dress blue or gold?" memes of recent times.
It's understandable some have become overexcited at this gif, because if you just glance at the sequence (while wearing rose-coloured glasses) it looks like Andy eluded each of the three punches.
Obviously, even though he did get hit a bunch in every round by Izzy, this is still an impressive performance from Andy. He still dealt with Adesanya's striking better than any UFC opponent yet, and did an amazing job to reach the end of the 3rd at 43, after his extended break, against the craftiest striker in the division. It's just that it's not the Old Skool Matrix Andy some Shergoofs are fooling themselves into believing it was.
- The jab connecting is somewhat difficult to clock, since Andy rolls with it fairly well, but once you know what you're looking at you can clearly see it connect with Andy's right eyebrow and knock his head back as Andy's stepping forward.
- The easiest one to clock is the right cross, which, although glancing, clearly knocks Andy's head back to the left (with a slight rotation) as Andy begins to bring it forward again after the first strike knocked him back. The illusion is that Andy jerked his head back to make it miss. The truth is what jerked his head was the strike hitting it. Again though, Andy does see it coming and rolls with it, taking some of the sting out of the glancing shot.
- The third strike looks to the uninitiated like a double-pumped second cross that whiffs past Andy's ear, when in fact anyone who understands the game can clearly see it's a backfist that connects with Andy's ear. Contrary to this being a "Matrix-like" move, Andy actually moves his head into this shot rather than eludes it. Fortunately there's no juice on the backfist, and Andy lives to fight another day.
Or if it was, then Izzy is in the Matrix too, because he hit Andy with each of these 3 shots.

100%Both were in friendly sparring mode.
Israel throwing half-heartedly, more speed than power.
Andy eating those pulled punches and acting like he was Neo.
The guys had a nice sparring match with no actual danger, got paid, got FOTN and walked away happy.
They weren't the hardest shots but they landed.
He moved his own head. Time for a brain exam.First two clearly landed hard enough to jerk Andy's head
Time for an eye exam
Different sequenceThey weren't the hardest shots but they landed.
Ummmm I’m happy. This is the big sportchIn several threads this gif has been posted with comments/titles suggesting the three strikes missed ("OMG, ANDY IN MATRIX MODE AGAIN!!!"), when in reality all three of them landed.

They all completely missed, was like Sonnys punch in The Godfather.
