It's not remotely an equal comparison.I did...and still do so.
Unfortunately many Americans love their political party more than this country...
To be fair...many libs, leftists are engaging in the same behavior many repubs and conservatives did with Obama...
Never giving the man a chance
You can disagree with policies and politics, but you can judge a man's character by his words and actions. Conservatives acted like Obama was the anti-Christ. "He's a socialist/was born in Kenya/he's a Muslim/
Disagree with his policies, but Obama was never unpresidential. Bush 2.0 even looks like a scholar and a gentleman compared to Trump.
I may disagree with some conservative ideas, but I don't believe that all conservatives are evil. There are some things that we fundamentally just don't agree on. Universal healthcare isn't some nefarious scheme--it's common place in the rest of the modern states--and yet, you got people in the states acting like the government is opening "death panels".
Trump has peddled bullshit from day 1, saying the most ridiculous shit. He didn't get the same chance, nor did he deserve it, because he wasn't a serious candidate/politician. He SHOULD have had a lot more to prove because of his lack of experience. I wouldn't of expected conservatives to have taken Tony Stark or Will Smith seriously either had they ran.
Furthermore, the backlash against Trump is not a simple Republican vs Democrat matter. I honestly don't really see him as a Republican...not in the same sense as I see a guy like McConnel, Ryan, or Boehnner. The Republicans didn't even see him as a Republican--the majority of them didn't want him to run. And the guy was a Democrat for a long ass time, and even backed the Clintons. This has little to do with politics.
The backlash is against Trump as a person--his party is a distant 2nd.
