Can you guys recommend some good horror films?

I watched The Unnameable and The Unnameable Returns when i was a kid. I remember thinking they were pretty scary, and they're not very well known so you probably haven't seen them yet.

I'd say the best horror movie barely anyone in the US have seen, is this french flick.

Inside.jpg

And it may be the most disturbing movie I've ever seen.

Here are some newer ones I really liked and were fun to watch:

Attack The Block
The Crazies
Conjuring 1&2
Let The Right One in (American or Swedish both good)
It Follows
Get Out
The Visit
28 Days
The Devils Rejects
The Strangers
The Others

Congo is not classified a horror film but it'll scare you real good if you're afraid of killer gorillas killing people in the jungle.

I like them with a decent budget. I enjoyed all the giallo like suspiria and tenebre but now I'm looking for newer films. Any good recommendations?

How contemporary does the movie have to be?

The Conjuring I and II
Red Dragon
Sinister
Wolf Creek

if you havent seen em go watch the first two REC

This must be the 3rd / 4th thread on horror movies I've posted in this week!
Why are we all horror buffs on sherdog

The strangers
Insidious
Wolf creek

Grizzly ones
The strangers had a really creepy feel that was very unsettling, the first insidious was really good until it got campy towards the end, still a good film though. I haven't seen wolf creek

The Witch is the only decent one I've seen in recent memory.

Came to say The Descent.

Original Jeepers Creepers underrated as well.

I thought Jeepers Creepers 2 was better than the original. The Descent made me sweat.

Inside and The Babadook are both very good.

I recommend -

The Descent

It Follows

Alien

Aliens

In the Mouth of Madness

The Thing

Nightbreed (Clive Barker's version)

The Shining

The Graveyard Shift

28 Days Later

Monster squad

Blade 2

The descent
The others
Devils rejects
Cabin in the woods
The ring
Evils dead 1 and 2
Drag me to hell
Cabin fever
Jeepers creepers

Really depends. I'm not into slasher flicks

Yeah it is brilliant, I absolutely loved it and I am not a horror fan/buff by any means (bit of a scaredy-cat and despise cheap jump-scares) but I can enjoy slow-burn/art horror like The Shining. It's a comparable sort of atmosphere. Almost a cliche at this point, but The Witch doesn't rely on cheap jump-scares, but is instead filled with a genuine creepiness and a sense of dread throughout. As someone who loves history, I also appreciated how authentic the film was in terms of costumes, setting etc. and the plot, despite obviously being fictional lol, is an accurate depiction of what people in the early modern priod (puritans) really feared about Witches.

I also recommend Don't Look Now - http://forums.sherdog.com/posts/130093055/

The Witch is almost in no way a horror film. Please.

All three of those are straight up garbage and not scary in the slightest. Two of them are also just about weird people murdering other people (the lowest class of horror).

Good lord, most of you need to revisit a dictionary. Half of the films listed here are in no way horror films. Red Dragon? Attack the Block?? Monster Squad???? The last one is a movie for ten year olds.

The very first Night of the Living Dead, I think it was by George Romero. Not a big budget and filmed in B&W but super good film.
