Can we talk about the LW GOAT???????????????

LW and LHW are the 2 divisions without a clear goat, now that Jones has tested positive a 2nd time during his prime. IMO LW is between Gomi, Penn, and Aoki(Aoki has beaten a lot of good fighters that most of you have never heard of). As for LHW, Rampage, Wand, Chuck, Shogun, and DC. You could argue all day with this.

I can’t ever call any fighter a GOAT if they have never even defended their title a single time. Not considering every division has at least one fighter that defended multiple times.

Defending a belt against the best contender every fight is a lot harder than winning a title. That’s why it is so hard to repeat in other major sports. The reigning champion in a sport has a target on their backs. And every team in the league. Is gunning for them. And gets psyched up specifically to play them. Nobody gets psyched up to play the cellar dwellers, and door mats of the league. Unless it’s one of those long storied rivalries in sports.

Some rising contenders start tailoring their gameplan with the specific intention of gearing it to meet, and beat a dominant champion a year or two down the road.

Hoping to land a lucky punch rarely works and is not a smart gameplan to defeat a dominant champion.

Nope. Khabib is not the LW GOAT.

BJ, Gomi, Frankie, Benson, RDA, Melendez, Alvarez, and Aoki

Good I'm glad I'm not the only one putting Aoki in there. As I said, most people on here haven't even heard of a lot of the good fighters he's beaten.

I am a big fan of "the fireball kid" Takanori Gomi and BJ Penn.... But.. I think Khabib already surpass those legends accomplishments.

His best wins are a broken MJ, Edson Barboza, and RDA. He needs to fight Tony and Conor (Tony more importantly than anything) before we can call him the LW GOAT.

Bj penn is to old. His time is over.
But a 11 winstreaks vs 11 winstreaks fight is a way for that as well.
Never done that in history of ufc.

That division is so stacked that there is a possibility for a new lw goat.

Most of Silva's best career wins were vs guys we know were on PEDs (Hendo, Vitor, Shael, Marquardt, Forrest, etc). Jones, not so much
