Anderson absolutely deserves his spot as a top 3 GOAT contender, but many wanted him to fight top 205 guys, and he never did (even though some argue Griffin was).

Now he's fighting Cormier, who is one of the GOAT 205ers. Not only that, but Cormier is in, or close to his prime.

I'm surprised he took this fight, but he's proven to any doubters that he has balls of steel. I loved Conor moving up to fight RDA...but what Anderson is doing is even more courageous.

I'd let Cormier ragdoll me if I would be on UFC 200 and my career was in decline.

Anderson has always been hard as iron. He stepped in and fought Griffin or Bonnar on like a weeks notice also, IIRC...

So his e.d. problems are over? Good to know.

Um. I'd happily fight DC for a million dollars.

And I'm soft as fuck.

Even if money was a big part of Anderson's decision, he has massive balls. I mean, he's already very wealthy.

You gotta give the guy credit. Definitely doing the good "company man" thing. I would guess UFC will find a way to keep him around in some kind of Brazilian outreach / PR position. They like to reward a handful of company men and tell the other 600 guys that it's proof the company will take care of them.

  1. Probably, given the circumstances, the biggest money fight an aging fighter who still has some draw can get. That being said I give him his props for fighting DC on a couple days notice.

I hope he doesnt afraid to use his kicks

He's the goat MW champ for a reason. The newbies that came with conner and rhonda don't know about him..

He was probably offered an absurd amount of money and he has nothing to lose. He is no longer worried about what a loss does for his legacy. He's lost a few times recently. He wants that Anderson Silva money to retire on.

Hard? Ok so you are saying he is about to get popped for Cialis again?

He gets Brocks USADA exception, so its all good.

Anderson has faced great competition from 167lbs all the way to 205lbs. Yeah, I think it's safe to say he's got balls of steel.

Just the other week I was reading a thread where GSP fans were shitting on Silva's supposed unwillingness to fight the 205 pound champion, and praising GSP for calling out Bisping.

Kind of funny, considering the way things worked out. Silva is fucking great.

I just hope he doesn't get hurt.

There are like 12 other threads about the same subject. I think TS just wanted and excuse to write “how hard Anderson is”.

There's a good chance you're also not rich already like Anderson definitely is.
