This is because The UFC is the number 1 mma organization in the world attracting the best of the best of talents whenever possible to compete between them.

And Askren have never competed in the UFC but other b-level competition such as Bellator and OneFC, therefore it is unreasonable to form a basis where he would dominate the UFC like how he did in his previous orgs.

Justin Gaethje have taught us how high level the competition in UFC currently is, seeing as he was dominating WSOF as a champion for a long time there. He's now on a 2 fight losing streak in the UFC.

At most, to be fair, I think Askren would have been a top 5 WW..but he didn't even compete in the UFC so who knows?

Comparing Justin and Askren is rediculous. Justin just straight up bangs ad everyone including him knew he was gonna get knocked out eventually. Askren has world class wrestling/grappling. Askren would at minimum have similar success to Shields with potential for more.

Lol my absolute ass off that thinking GAethje and Askren are any where remote. Askren has been a life long champion. Gaethje has not. Everyone that knew anything about MMA knew Gaethje was a big fish in a small pond and would get fucking murked in the big leagues. DC wasnt always an UFC fighter and he only lost to BONES. other than that he became a champ that also was dominant in the HW division. Maybe he can defeat Miocic.
