Can we get a Clay Guida appreciation thread?

I can appreciate this guy's vigor and relentlessness. Loved his fight against Huerta. Had some solid wins and a lot of losses due to fighting an incredible strength of schedule.

He deserves even more respect then. Entertained us the most when he was getting thumped. Put his body on the line for you and me brother!
His fight with Tyson Griffin is my favorite of his, either that or Huerta. He had a killer run in 2010-2011, when he beat RDA, Gomi, and Pettis IN A ROW. He should also get props for dominating Josh Thomson in a 5 round fight in Strikeforce prior to his UFC tenure. I know his fight with Giblert was a SD but that was almost a travesty of a decision, Gil clearly won that one.

Clay has fought insanely tough competition and racked up a handful of high profile wins. Can't hate at all. If it were me I would be more than happy with an MMA career of that level
Honestly brother, im not sure alot of these kids have been fans long enough to remember his streaks. Guida v sanchez was a most exellent bloodbath

Clay is extremely tough and has insane cardio

he doesnt have the best skillset though he reminds me of forrest griffin

He's one of the best guys at switching between double and single legs and chaining takedown attempts, I think you have to give him that.

Clay vs Tyson Griffin and Roger Huerta are two of the best mma fights ever.

Plus, Round 1 of the Diego fight is an all timer.

All that jumping he does all the time makes me anxious. And as someone else posted, he's only exciting when he's getting his ass kicked.

Guida brothers are right up there in the pantheon of MMA families with Millers, Ruas, Lauzons, etc

He was my favorite fighter back in the day. His fight against Diego sanchez make me a fan of the sport

When making a perfect fighter, (another El Indestructo) you pretty much have to take Guida's cardio and stamina.

Dude won't ever stop jumping around, even 10 seconds after getting KO'd.

His brother used to slap the shit out of him before fights to get him pumped. I also remember him sprinting to the ring every fight. No such thing as a “walk” out.

I always thought he was entertaining, apart from a couple sinkers (like the maynard fight). There was a time back when the UFC reinstated the LW division where it looked like the most exciting division--griffin, edgar, guida, huerta, etc. were all putting on great fights. can't think of the little "just bleed" guy from NM who was in the mix as well. but him too, even though he was more fun to watch than good.

I like that TS put (2019) next to BJ Penn.

That is the equivalent of a * haha
