The thing about Pride is that they did not test from steroids or peds. Therefore they were legal. Therfore not cheating. I wish things can go back to the good old days.

But I don't ever see the UFC heavyweights reach the glory days of Pride. Unless they bring back TRT. Abolish USADA and random testing. Then I can see the glory days return.

I mean, Fedor can never be replicated.

But, Werdum right now is an awesome champion. The whole division is fucking tremendous with the new JDS, Reem, AA, Hunto, Stipe, Browne. I agree, all PED's should be legal with proper medical supervision, but yo, dawg, UFC Heavyweight division is better now than it has been in a long long time.

I agree the UFC heavyweights have improved. But back in PRIDE the heavyweights were the main show. Agreed. Legalized peds under a doctors care is the most beneficial. This will insure top performance without abuse and the fighters dying of heart failure at 45 like a lot of pro wrestlers.

The whole division hasn't changed in a looooong time. Shit half of the HWs are still former Pride fighters.
Where is the new talent?
I feel the UFC need to pay some serious cash to attract some super athletes and give the HW division a much needed boost.

I think that's what it is. Bigger athletes would rather do something else and get paid more. NFL pays well. Boxing pays well. Even pro wrestling pays well! Shit Jack Swagger in WWE is a legit college wrestling champion. He could have been a force in MMA but he choose gay fake wrassLin'

I like the HW in the UFC more. Not the same marked cards all the time. some variation in the title picture...more dynamic and fun to watch. Ah yeah and they're tested.

The guys who should be heavyweights are in football and basketball. the heavy weight boxing and UFC is begging for new talent.

most of these guys fail to make the NFL/NBA but by the time they fail they are too old to learn combat sports at a high level. it is possible that some bigger kids will decide the chance of making the UFC is a lot more realistic than making the NFL and we will see a flood of talent at some point. but the social appeal of the NFL and NBA is so large that i doubt that will happen.

That's true. In NFL and NBA drug testing is pretty much a joke when it comes to peds. They give bigger suspensions for things like cocaine and heroin there.

I loved those Pride no-weight class fights. You had guys like Mousassi submitting guys like Hunt

most nfl players are in some type of peds/steroids. Now that the ufc is getting even more stricter then before. Real natural athletes will come to the ufc.

Not unless they have the Yakuza booking fights and allow PEDs.

I'm confused whit lots of people saying let the fighters do peds.
Fairness attracts more people

the nfl has long had the strictest testing of any professional sport. now they even do blood testing for HGH. im sure a bunch of these guys are on PED but not at a greater rate than the ufc.

i think UFC heavyweight has a potential in becoming even greater than Pride heavyweight with all the heavyweight main event fight in from ufc unstoppable there is 3 main event with Ufc Croatia, Ufc Netherland and Ufc 198 and most of the fighter are veteran soo the Ufc heavyweight is probably the best heavyweight right now and in Dana White looking for a fight ep 4 they scout for heavyweight and got Cody East signed up soo it will continue growing to be better Ufc heavyweight

why am I not surprised this is what you consider the "good old days" with a username like that?

fans like you are whats wrong with the sport

Jones is about to lay waste to the HW division and it wouldn't matter who was there.
