Can Rumble Johnson Ever Become a Champion?

Rumble has one punch KO power but so does Hendo, Big Country, Mark Hunt etc.

The point is, when you fight at the Championship level those fighters usually know how to game plan against hitting with one big shot.

Chuck Liddell had 1 punch KO power at the end of his career and it still didnt stop him from getting KOed is on self.

So, Rumble does have a shot but I think it's unlikely he will ever catch a champion slipping to the point he can just KO them. But it's been known to happen, ex McG and Aldo.

if mark hunt was in his athletic prime he could definitely have become champ. hendo won belts in multiple weight classes. you act like johnson is in his 40s with big power the only thing he has. He outboxed the shit out of phil davis and was able to keep the fight standing. something gus couldn't do. he knocked gus senseless. made lil nog's boxing look like a complete pushover and he had DC shooting takedowns like his life depended on it. you're selling AJ way too short here. For 2 rounds, he will be a legit threat to jones.

he is like Conor McGregor, he can win any fight with one punch, but as soon as the fight gets ugly or isnt going his way he looks for an easy out, Watching him fight DC, DC's chin must be made of granite, it would be interesting if Jones could handle one of them on the chin,

Cant believe people counting him out because he lost to DC on short notice
(Prepering for a 6'4 Well-rounded unpredictable style and getting a 5'10 Elite Wrestler)

Rumble could be a very hard matchup for Jones...

How many punches did Gus land on Jones? around 200?
If anyone "let" Rumble land 1 single punch it could be all over...

He TKO'd 6'6 Gus which is pretty huge,
The damage Jones and DC took from Gus... Those 2 fights could EASILY have gone to Gus with different judges, No need to pretend.

Do people not remember how close he was to becoming champ already? The shot he landed in round 1 against Cormier was enough to drop a rhino

No, because of Jon Jones

He's not 40 but it's now in his early 30s and we've been hearing for years how he was going to rule whatever division he was in, only to see him get beat by the upper tier fighters. This is a pattern for him. Going up against an upper level fighter and having to tap out of the fight. His 1 punch KO power hasn't gotten him past that hump and I believe it never will.

No is a fool's answer after seeing how close he came to stopping DC. However, I do not believe he will get to the title in the UFC or even in Bellator so long as Davis is there!

He's like Rory McDonalds Big Mac 4 for $4...Anyways he's good....just not good enough to be the champion.
