Can I roll if I put medical tape on my ringworm infection?

They won't give you the pill unless it get really bad. I got it deep in my follicles once and they wouldn't give me the pill until they took a biopsy first. Most likely the doc will give you Kenelog spray or one of many creams. No matter what, it's slow to go away and highly contagious

I just noticed one 1 cm diameter rash, most likely, ringworm fungus infection on my forearm. Since there is only one small dot I wonder if it possible cover the dot with medical tape to avoid infecting others?

Too much of a chance of cross contamination to do that and wait about 10 days after it clears up before you hit the mats.

Sounds like someone has it at your gym and is being ignorant and or a douche.

I don't know, possibly but why did i get it 4 days after training? and howcome i am the only one always getting it and not everyone else? I know theres people that are always there when I am, so im guessing when im not there they still are, so howcome there not at home with it all the time like I am

Maybe your bed friend is the one infecting you?

I sleep alone, and its not my sheets because I just started training again like a month and a half ago and I didn't have it, and it only took like barely a month for me to get it again, fucking annoying as hell just putting the cream on all the time let alone barely being able to afford training and not being able to go. I kind of feel stuck like its impossible to figure out, been doing it for a little over a year im pretty sure at the start I went like 3-4 months without it
edit: only thing I can think of is maybe I smoke too much pot which weakens my immune system, maybe a weaker immune system makes it easier to get ringworm I don't know other then that I can't think of why I would get it so often

What if a girl said, "don't worry, I put tape over my herpes sores."?

no. That isn't a thing. That's not how that works. Weed doesn't give you AIDS.

Someone at your gym is a dirty bastard who, like Mr. Tentacle, thinks 'hey brah, if I just cover it, it'll be alright, right?'

which, no. Someone at your gym is wearing dirty shit, rolling with a rash, or your mats are dirty.

Lamasil. Not Lotrimin or anything else, lamasil. Three times a day. Wash your bedsheets, clothes, and towels daily.

I can dazzle you with microbiology, but please, trust me.

Speaking of this ring worm, any one been using defense soap (before grappling cream and shower soap) prevent ring worm??

Only time they gave me the pill was when that shit was on like 3 different parts of my body. Started on my neck but spread to my chest and back of my legs too. Haven't had it in 2 years since showering a few days a week with Selsun Blue dandruff shampoo (use it as a body wash 2-3 times a week.) Don't train with it at all, it's just not fair to do.

The true best way to get rid of it is bleach that sucker. If you don't care about the stain on your skin this is the way to get rid of it.

wtf? No you can't.

Well you can just put tape on it, and then it can still spread to others, and then they will get - and by the time yours goes away, someone else will come to class with tape on theirs and give it right back.

People that train with ringworm are dicks.

Get in the shower and get it really hot and then bleach it until it burns so bad you cry. Wait 8 hours and do it again.
Then lotramin AF. I'd still wait a few days. The pills they give you are really really bad for you so avoid them if you can.

Don't do this. I don't know why some people are convinced that the ultimate cure to everything involves some ridiculous painful process. Just go get some anti-fungal cream from the drug store.

Everytime I've gotten ringworm its been after I rolled a no gi tournament with wrestlers. Wrestlers are dirty mofos. I know I used to be one.

Do not train until its gone. Go see a doctor. Buy some kenshield and put that shit on before you roll AFTER its gone.

But it's not localized. The fungus is carried in your sweat. If you rolled, you'd get it everywhere.

Completely incorrect. Ringworm thrives in sweat, yes. It does not manifest and transmit from an outbreak on your arm by sweat on your forehead.

I would be fucking pissed if a training partner of mine had ringworm on his forearm and didnt come to practice with it taped and a rashguard over the top and just "I have ringworm, Im out for a month." Put some lamisil on it for a few days and any doc will clear you.

FINALLY! A voice of reason and for sanity; if someone told me that they stopped training for a month because they had a single cm circumference ringworm in an area that they could EASILY tape ... well ... I would never take them seriously again since they most definitely do not take training seriously. It's fucking ringworm, not the black plague. - E

crush garlic rub it in its dead within a day or two.

Trust me I always get ringworm and I have no fucking idea why, I would have my blue right now if it werent for that shit, all clothes I wear there and back get washed so does my gi and the bag I carry my gi in, I got ringworm on my forearm 4 days after practice like 3 weeks ago and I shower everyday and after every class, its depressing the shit out of me knowing when I go back ill probably get it again somehow, basicly cleared up not much redness at all but im waiting till its 100% unnoticable even though the virus is no doubt gone I would hate to xfer it to someone else because not being able to train and paying for it is shitty

Make sure your recovery, nutrition, and stress are all in control. I stopped wrestling because I kept getting infections from dirty mats and dirty people. I always showered and washed my gear but not everyone was like me. I had to miss provincials as a junior because of ring worm on my face! You can also get it while competing. I KNOW people who used make up / little tricks to pass skin checks.
