Hector had Magny badly hurt and even looked to be going at a reasonable pace while trying to finish and he still gassed himself out. Do fighters properly practice situations like this so they know how much gas they have? It must be hard because you can't exactly just pummel your training partners like you would in a real fight but there has to be a way to simulate these situations and prepare. A guy like Lombard who relies on explosion should pay special attention to preparing for these scenarios especially when fighting a tough guy with cardio like Magny.

Training dummy

I mean that as "a training dummy" not "by training, you dummy".........although...

Adrenaline, bro.

This.

You can have the greatest cardio but the adrenaline dump will gas anybody at any time.

Fighters should be taught to stay calm and pick their shots. Watch Anderson Silva GNP, very relaxed. You can also see how he trains it for ideas.

But a training dummy doesn't resist so it isn't the same

It's the nearest you're getting if you want to throw full force. Bit like training on a bag vs sparring.......full force on the bag less than 100% when sparring

Its a hard one, if they let up and up and completly reset, its easy to shout at them 'why you let up, bro. should have finished'.
