Can Darren Till become the new star if he beats Wonderboy Thompson?

He has alot of ambition talk of becoming the new GOAT and talks of becoming a 3 weight world champion.

If you add subtitles to his interviews, yes.

Otherwise, no.

While I love his fighting style, I can't see him being champ.

Not because he lacks the talent, but because I don't think he will be able to handle being comprehensively beaten and then evolve into a much better fighter. I see Thompson beating him to a UD.

Some fighters are never the same after their first defeat and I think he is one of those fighters.

I hope I am totally proved wrong by the way!

What makes you think this?

He has a lot more star potential than Thompson does. Vicious KO artist as opposed to a Stun N Run point fighter.

Maybe. This is a huge win for him if he can pull it off, especially with a finish. WW has a lot of great prospects these days and a lot of great potential matchups to be made. Too bad Rory doesn't come back to the UFC. I still think he has the potential to be champ, especially when he already beat the current champ and made it look embarrasing for Tyrone.

I agree, it was a big mistake letting rory go, he put on great fights and would be a nightmare in the welterweight divison still. However i feel he takes too much damage in fights and Bellator is probably better for him in the long run compared to the UFC in terms of his longiviety.

Depends, how many wrestlemania shows has he acted in?

He's got an exciting style, and there's definitely potential there, but I'm concerned his win over Cerrone has made him too confident. Cerrone is on the decline. I think Wonderboy is going to be too much for him

Well considering he is fighting the #1 contender then of course he will be. This fight with Wonderboy could go either way. I want the loser to fight Covington and put his cocky mouth in its place. Hopefully RDA will beat them to it though.

"Vicious KO artist"? 3 of Till's 5 UFC fights were decisions. Let's chill on the vicious KO artist talk for now, I don't know where this narrative came from.

10 KOs in 16 fights. That's where that narrative came from.

His trajectory has been similar to that of Dan Hardy. That doesn't mean it will continue so, though. It will be interesting to see!

You're not a vicious KO artist because you knocked out some dude named Muriel Giassi at the Tavares Combat 6 event. Let's see it in the big leagues.

Wonderboy had more success knocking guys out than Till in his first 5 fights. I'm not saying Till won't turn into a legit KO artist, but people seem to forget about his boring decision wins before the Cowboy fight.

Potentially yes because of his undefeated record and excting fighting style.
