Can he have the Usman, Colby, sea level Cain cardio with the right training or he will always have issue with his gas tank? Because of genetics or whatever?

Tireless Conor 8.0 would be hard to beat lets be honest

would take a couple years imo

Road work and biking isnt enough to make drastic change

Conor will never have amazing cardio since he's so fast twitch. I'm sure he can run heaps and bike huge distances but in fights he always seems to gas after 2 rounds. In Poirier 2 though he didn't gas, he just got beaten.

No, I don't believe he will EVERT have the cardio of those guys.

He CAN improve his cardio, that's for sure.
But those guys come from a whole lifetime of training hard and improving/keeping their cardio.
You don't just get it but trying hard for a couple of years.

But he could definitely improve, if this was his prime focus... Unfortunately, money and fame are a very good argument of why he does not have to do so, and I think he 100% agrees with it...

His cardio has improved since the Mayweather fight

He hasn't had that gas out moment since the Diaz 2 fight in MMA

He didn't have awful cardio way back when he started in the UFC.

He needs to get out there and pound that damn pavement. Running would do wonders. I go 5 days a week, roughly 40 miles per week and I have cardio for days. Think I heard he has bad knees though? Or did I just make that up?

In Poirier 2 he may not have “gassed” but his punches lost steam.... which always happens after a first round that has grappling. He can still tag you after the first round, but the snap definitely is diminished. After the 2nd round, his left hand travels much, much slower.

The video is probably from when he's tired. That's the thing about fast twitch muscles when they are fatigued. They dont' twitch so well anymore.

No that's from back when he was training with Correia

It can be worked on, it's about pacing, volume, and controlling your power shots. He doesn't control his striking and as he gets tired he throws harder going for hail mary KOs. He doesn't slow down to recover or get a 2nd wind. That's the real reason he gasses quickly.

Yes it can be worked on, he just has to do long cardio sessions and do things that match the tempo he fights in and move that max threshold more little by little. He needs to learn how to be comfortable completely drained and still work in that physical and mental mode. He needs different gears in his fights to switch to depending on his cardio during the fight. He needs a pacing and fighting style that he uses to recover and get his 2nd wind.

Fully agreed! His heart ain't in it... (every pun intended)

Yes…

But I don’t think that will help him much when he is getting swarmed with punches.
