A. No amount of training would have improved Conor's TDD to a level where he could avoid or defend Mendes' takedowns.

Conor, like anyone, is fucked if Khabib gets on top of him. The real question is whether he can prevent Khabib being able to close the distance. The game will be won/lost way before Khabib gets a hold of Conor. Even if Conor gets taken down one time, it could be enough to tilt the rest of the fight for Khabib.
