International Can China be doubted at this point?

I think all three have serious failings, but the US is in the spotlight for clamping down on protest of late, and speech against the government is getting hit hard.

I've scarcely seen freedom of press attacked so rabidly in the UK or Canada. The general tone and language is that the press is actually an enemy. Threats to use and implement the Insurrection Act, attacking protesters in plain sight, politicizing law enforcement, all this kind of stuff is extremely worrying.

The fact that they started showing you the 'loss of freedoms' in Europe and the UK was really just a precursor to them doing the same thing to you.

Hmm.

I see the English getting visits for posting "ofensive" content. First ed for language deemed offensive.

In Canada they arrested a preacher for saying homesexuality is a sin. They closed bank accounts of people supporting the trucker protest.

But, sure its the US that are stopping people from protesting despite the fact that I've seen at least 4 protest against the govt/Trump in my town in the last 6 months.

No one should underestimate China. They are ruthless and have graduated a ton of STEM graduates in the last quarter of a century. That said they are headed for a crash. Their demographics are seriously fucked and Xi Jinping has taken out pretty much everyone who was competent in the government and military.

Sounds wonderful. I keep reading that much more energy production is needed for AI technology. Sounds like this super critical CO2 energy plant would be ideal.

And you must be MAGA,

Find me something like the below and I'll reconsider my opinion.

British human rights activist and reporter Sarah Wilkinson was arrested by UK police on Thursday morning, and subsequently released, allegedly for content she published online in support of Palestine and against the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski was sentenced to 60 days in jail yesterday for delivering a sermon to truckers taking part in the Freedom Convoy blockade in Coutts, Alberta, along the U.S.-Canadian border, but he was allowed to go free due to the fact that he had already spent 78 days in jail after his initial arrest.

The Sarah Wilkinson post is a good one to point out, in fairness, as it shows how proscribing 'terror organisations' can quickly spiral into madness.

On the one hand, ISIS (let's say) are without question a terror organisation and I'd support the monitoring of anyone who seemed to show support, active or passive, for their cause.

On the other hand, while Hamas are also a terror organisation, it's quite telling that they would arrest random people for comments and statements instead of monitoring them. It shows that the state doesn't believe these people are the same level of threat as, say, the guy who accesses bomb-making material associated with ISIS or the Taliban or whatever.

If they're not arresting people who in someway support ISIS or the Taliban immediately, why not? And why is it that terrorists are "known to the authorities" after they committed a crime? If they're known, does that mean they've been arrested, questioned, and had their devices searched already? Because a lot of the time, it doesn't feel like it.

This is concerning double standard scare tactics, and I 100 % agree that it's wrong to treat people differently. The intent seems clear to me: they will scare people they don't think are a real threat, but secretly surveil others. That's bollocks.

there's like 2-3 posters around here that have actually been to china, to form a real opinion.
the rest are just regurgitating twitter talking point usually.
They hate the US, don't have ice, drink everything hot, and shut AC off at around 9pm. Drinking is cool and so is fighting. Don't ask about Tank Man in tiananmen square.

Most of the population loves seeing Americans and look at them as celebrities or Aliens, particularly darker skinned types.

Yea, their extremely low birthrate combined with their extremely low number of immigrants and massive aging population could be a recipe for disaster within the next 20 years or so... when most of their current workforce retires/becomes a drain on their system, and there's not enough people left to support all them economically. Probably the CCP will try to ban retirement or something until all of them drop dead.

Also their Gen-Z population is apparently super apathetic about working and call themselves rat-people because they'd rather spend their days in bed.

Our man mans Xi will probably just find another ethnic group to enslave

They met down when you mention Taiwan and were to soft to have Hong Kong be at their border.

All that STEM did not teach them to build decent buildings.

Saw a trailer for judge Judy where someone was challenging an unfair eviction. Judy screeched that they could evict her if they don't like the colour of your hair cos it's their house. Not so sure you really have rights there anymore. Until you all start testing them for all you know those rights don't exist anymore

Judy, does not preside over an official, government-run courtroom. Her screachings do not reflect law or rights of citizens, etc.

In terms of influence it does not even come close to the Soviets.

True, but in terms of influence, Cold War US >>>> present US.

The post war period was interesting because the West and the Soviet bloc had a complete stranglehold on development, wealth, and global influence. Asia (minus Japan), Africa, and Latin America were completely minor players.

Now we got BRICS, Latin America much more stable, and the West stagnating.

If you look at the Freedom indices, the US is objectively behind Canada and the UK. That said, the three of them are at least comparable, while China is not even on the same planet.

Basically Canada (97) gets an A,
UK (92) gets an A- ,
US (84) gets a B- and
China (9) throws up all over the exam and shoots up the school

The Uyghurs aren't getting put to work though. They're being repressed, being put in internment camps, their culture and practices erased, etc.

But it doesn't matter because Sherdoggers have assured me that labor needs and birth rates are made up by Western elites in order to further the white genocides. China doesn't have any of that so they'll be fine.
