Can Anderson Take Cormier's Power?

We've never seen Anderson against a good aggressive boxer with DC's kind of power. How's he gonna respond to that?
 
Doubt it will be a problem, DC isn't much of a power punch, hasn't flatlined anyone since Foot in Strikeforce
 
Depends on how well DC can land. He's gonna need to hit the chin clean or land lots of consecutive blows, both hard to do on Silva. Also depends on the shape Silva is in. If he's gonna gas 2 minutes in then he will get KO'ed. DC often has trouble getting his punches to land at range since he's such a short guy for even middleweight. He has to move in through the fire, and you never know what type of fire Silva will bring.

Most likely gonna be a wrestlefuck party unless DC has succes with his boxing early. Sparring with Rockhold all the time could be a big big gamechanger tho, but you just never know with Silva.
 
Anderson got dropped and rocked by Bisping. Cormier has knocked out heavyweights.

I wouldn't recommend testing it out against DC.

In general DC does more chip damage and slowly wears you out with his boxing and wrestling though.
 
If DC loses where does that leave him? People are already saying he isn't the real champ, since he never been Jones.. Then he loses to Silva, everyone will be saying how Silva is the real champ now, and the true GOAT, and DC will just look stupid...

Hope Silva wins just so we get to see Jones vs Silva at some point, Fedor can fight the winner...

Really though I think a full camp DC comes out like an animal and throws Silva to the ground and beats him senseless. Too much power for Silva.
 
Anderson got wrecked by Weedman no way he can survive DC atleast they are both near 40 years old I guess..

Anderson is gonna get ragdolled. He cant handle dc's clinch/wrestling power.
 
Absolutely not. This is not "Anderson Silva", this is old, past his prime, on the way out Anderson Silva. Let's stop pretending like he has much left in the tank.
 
DC should take Anderson down, that should be the game plan regardless of what we think about Anderson's chin at this stage of his career.

It sure seems like a mismatch to me in DCs favor. I hope it lasts at least three rounds, which seems super unlikely.

if DC want to make it a striking battle, we will have a great show

i see holes in DC striking that make him vulnerable to Anderson,
DC never face a dangerous accurate striker like Anderson

Yeah cause your weight determines how hard of a punch you can take. If that was the case, wouldn´t the rate of KO´s be the same at HW because their chins get better along their power. People will never get that the power goes up, chin maybe a tiny bit because you dont cut weight.

Your weight/size absolutely determines how hard a punch you can take. But heavyweights obviously punch harder too so it cancels out. But there's no question size makes a difference in how big a punch you can take.
