Taking steroids pretty clearly violates the terms of the bout's agreement. That kinda makes it like assault. It could maybe make the steroid abuser responsible for your medical bills and more for pain and suffering.

Has anyone ever thought of making a case out of this against an opponent?

Mark Hunt requested a meeting with UFC brass. He wanted to inform them, that he was going to sue Brock and the UFC itself.

When he entered the room he found Stipe.Nothing was said and he left.

Technically you can sue for pretty much anything, whether a court will hear your case, and then whether or not you win it, remains to be seen. It would actually be pretty interesting to see it happen.

Its definitely not assault lol. Hunt willingly got into the cage and partook. Also, it's impossible to prove that Hunt would've suffered less injuries had Brock not taken the banned substance. Breach of contract is possible I guess, but the fact that it has never happened as far as I'm aware (i.e. No legal precedence) I'm guessing it wouldn't pan out.

If that's the case then cm punk should sue all of these guys that have been ducking him!

I've never been a Hunt Fan or Hater, but after hearing about all of this, like many here, I have less and less respect for him as a Fighter and person. He should just lay low for a while.

so when a fighter who won a PED trial get´s popped he also has to relinquish the money he previously won to the next fihter who sues him?

Removing padding from gloves counts as assault, even though both fighters agreed to get into the ring and partake in a fight.

If there's substantial long-term injury, you could probably win the case.
Like if Frank Mir popped after breaking Nogueira's arm in two, Nog would have a pretty good case.

Nobody ever sued anybody for anything... until they did.

You can sue for almost anything. But it must be heard, you must win. Then you still may not be able to collect.

It's a can of worms, but someone will sue for it sooner or later.

He might get pain and suffering compensation.

But if the judge realizes he is Samoan, he will throw the case out based on Samoan's toughness...Nevermind that he is a Super!

What would you sue for ? Contracts are generally very cut and dry.

Hunt agreed to be paid a certain amount and he was paid that amount. So again what would you sue for ?

There's nothing in the contract saying if someone cheats you get more money.

So again, what arguement do you have?

Thats how I look at it anyways. I'm trying to think of what type of arguement you can make and I dont see any. You didnt lose money because someone cheated, nor is there anything in the contract or in the law that says you get more money if someone cheats.

You can certainly file an appeal to have the fight decision overturned if they dont do it on their own. But sueing in an actual court for money? I cant think of any valid arguement you could make.

can someone sue for steroids?

If you can sue for steroids then I'm suing Lesnar for 5 bottles of test cyponate, some deca durabolin, HGH, IGF and EPO.

Wooooooooo!!

While its true you can sue for anything you want. I cant think of any arguement you could actually make. You sign a contract stating you will get paid a certain amount, and you got paid that amount. There are rules that youre not allowed to cheat and if youre caught you will be suspended, there are no rules that state you have to give someone else money if you cheated.

I'm trying to think of any possible arguement you could make in front of a judge and i cant really think of any.

Contracts and laws related to contracts are pretty simple for the most part. Its extremly common for people to get extremly screwed over in some type of contract, a judge will agree its heavily wrong but they will still uphold the contract because you signed it. Its very hard to get something in court when you signed a contract and no where in the contract does it say youll be rewarded if someone takes steroids.

It's fraud. He could sure and probably win. The Supreme Court of Canada has already confirmed, I am sure it just needs to be brought to trial in the US.

If the UFC gives him just compensation he won't need to though.

Hunt came out basically uninjured. He's a big tough fighter who makes money getting beaten up so no physical or psychological distress. If Lesnar had landed a Hendo Bisping bomb and sent him into hospital, yeah, there was an issue. Hunt broke his hand vs a roided Bigfoot and didn't complain or sue...

His monetary loss was his win bonus if he had one in his contract. He could sue Brock for thatz Or the UFC.

why sue the fighter when you can sue the UFC and/or athletic commissions?
