So, I believe if you asked a few years ago what would happen if Bones moved up to fight Cain the majority were saying Cain would win. Fast forward to the present and based on what we've seen the last few years layoffs, injuries etc..
How would you gage this fight now? Would Bones be the favorite in your eyes or would Cain be too much to overcome?

honestly we need to see them both fight again before we gauge this kind of fight between weight classes.

Cain still mauls JBJ, not to mention JBJ will never ever move up HW not while he can fight midgets and maintain the obvious advantage over he's opponents.

Bones by asswhipping. He's just as big longer reach. Bones can lean on him in the clinch to tire Cain out and throw knees to the body like he did to Cormier. As far as last fights go Jon has better cardio and if he can outwrestle DC he can out wrestle Cain.
I don't think Cain can grind Jon against the fence with dirty boxing because frankly bones shines there too. The only place you can say he lacks is KO power but he doesn't need it
He is by far the best fighter right now

I doubt Jones will ever move up to HW

Him and McGregor seem to have the same "better than anyone" mentality. So, maybe one day after he gets bored at LHW. Crazy speculation, but the UFC is an unpredictable beast right now.

funny thing is both have height/size advantage over everybody in their weight class

Jones.
DC is Cains fucking wrestling coach for Christ sakes and Jones beat him

Jones via Hellbows from top

Sea level Cain will overwhelm and push him unlike ever before. But new and improved PED testing era Cain won't be the favourite against a healthy and ring rust free Bones.

JBJ is too weak. Doesn't have that Penn/Conor courage to move up weight.

Not sure why. With his speed advantage, he'd wreck most/all of the division.

Booking Cain in big fights is a waste of time and money at this point.

You're not sure why because you're just guessing. And why pick 2 examples of guys who have gone up in weight class only to get destroyed? Bad example.

Jones would go for those knees like a pitbull trying to eat a baby

Last time I checked BJ vs GSP 1 was close and Conor was winning for 99% of the fight. Try again CHHHHHHHHHHUMPPP!

Cain is overrated and Werdum exposed him as such. Jones breaks him.

Your percentages are way off. Friend.
That means Diaz won 6 seconds of that fight. Either way, he was losing on the feet so Conor went for a sloppy takedown as a last ditch effort.

Let's be real.
