An acquaintance of mine shot some dude, and got hit with attempted murder many years back. Surprisingly low prison time, only 18 months.

Yah, Im not sure how that works. I know people like the Boston bomber was treated for serious injuries but under arrest at the same time. Maybe because Cain was the only one that did shooting, the police are investigating? As with the Kyle Rittenhouse situation, even tho he was eventually found innocent, only he was booked......that did make me wonder why the people he shot/shot at were never booked......if he was found innocent of defending himself against a lethal threat, shouldn't they be charged with assault and imposing that threat upon him?

Assuming cain wasnt even a trained professional fighter just him being like a 6'2" 250lb human being should have been enough for him to be able to not get beat up in a self defense situation. He also should have gotten ccw with his money he could have done all the paperwork to get one in san jose but he still might have gotten arrested seems like he recklessly used a fire arm and brandished a pistol.

There is no brown pride gang in san jose they are norterños that is more of sureño thing. Cain was probably never in a gang and just got a brown pride tattoo as many people have with no gang affiliation it was one those tacky cheesy tattoos mexican folks in the u.s used to get in maybe the early 2000s to mid 90s. This crime seems like an impulsive act with a firearm which actually might help him in court.
