In all seriousness it’s due to CTE.

what regular person goes to the mall and gets into an argument and busts a cap in someone.

Especially a guy who knows how to fight like Cain?

Yah, there are infinite possibilities at this point, but via getting booked and charged those options are dwindling. I'd think if it was clear self defense, then he would not be booked like this - unless booking is essential for every time a shooting happens. Only experience I have with 'murder' is my good friend growing up had a father who hit and killed an old lady, but he never booked or anything....a gun a bit different tho.

I would think if his wife and child were with him and then some crazy fan was harassing them, he could just choke the guy out......therefor leading me more to the conclusion that the "victim" probably had a weapon. If you are a Cain supporter, you better hope the guy did present a lethal threat, for if he did not, Cain could go to jail for a long time.

Sonnen was taken out in cuffs for defending his wife. Sometimes the optics are more important then the facts. But yeah Im cautiously optimistic that Cain was justified.
 
Wondering why a UFC champion would need to rely on a gun.

That’s true as well. Could be CTE and or drug use if this was an aggravated assault. CTE is no joke
