So cain's name gets thrown around a lot as being the greatest heavyweight of all time, even surpassing legends such as Fedor.

But is he really? this thread will take into account longvevity, best wins, and best losses. Each category with a fighter comparison

Wins: Junior dos santos (2), Bigfoot Silva (2), Ben Rothwell, travis browne.

clearly Jds is his best wins. I think in order the rest goes Rothwell, Browne, and then Silva. I rank Rothwell higher because I've not seen a reason that the latter 2 surpass him. Therefore, Cain's two best wins IMO are Rothwell and Jds. But this was a younger not as good rothwell than he is today.

comparison: Werdum - Overeem, Velasquez, Barnett, Fedor and Alex Emelienenko etc
overeem - arlovski, werdum, Kharitonov, JDS, Igor, Vitor albiet at a lower weight
jds: ROthwell, Stipe, cariwn, cain, mir, hunt, werdum

Losses: Werdum, dos santos

terrific fighters to lose too, but does it make up for his lack of solid wins?

comparison: jds - overeem, velasquez (2), ferriera.

pretty even but is it even when considering JDS' wins? jds has at least double the amount of significant wins that cain has.

Longevity

reem: 56 total fights
jds: 22 total fights
werdum - 27 total fights
rothwell - 46
cain - 16

you decide

Best Fedor > Best Cain

but still

Best Cain > almost any other HW

Prime Crocop will have given him a good fight, not sure how it end

JDS was a fucking beast, but Cain pressure was really a bad match up for him

How good is Werdum will ever be a "?" to me

Cain fought the best of the best in the UFC and still is. Case closed

Prime Cain would kill any version of Fedor as long as it's in a cage.

IMO he's right up there but I really wanna see him fight miocic and reem

Cain seems like a nice and humble person but as a fighter he is overrated among UFC fans. His last fight i was more surprised at how BAD Browne is more than how good Cain was. I think every top 5 HW beats Cain today....even JDS.

And Cain is outside the cage with a rifle. Agree.
Good gameplan will be place lot of ice cream in the middle then shoot when the Fedor is eating the bait

I was talking about an hypothetical MMA fight
In that i will favor prime Fedor

Cain's name was thrown around as the greatest HW ever for may be 3 or 4 yrs in the early 2010s.

Fedor 's name has been recognized as the greatest HW ever for the past 13 or 14 years.

It has long been decided. Get with the program.

Some youngsters used to do this, TS, but everyone stopped.

He has beaten 12 guys. That is hardly enough to call anyone greatest HW of all time. He is also pretty onedimensional and struggles with guys that know BJJ.

In todays landscape he definitely is a top 10 HW, even top 5, but so are a lot of guys that had their prime ten years ago.

im still having hope for JDS. if he dosnt come in with the same gameplan to fucking back up and circle against cain i can see him beating cain again. for some reason the last 2 fights his coaches put together a circle heavy gameplan and against cain thats a great way to get worked into the cage.

If JDS dosnt turn out to be the best it might be Reem or Werdume depending how these years go. or cain could come back and take everyones peanutbutter like before

Like JDS did the last two times?...Not sure about that one

He doesn't even have the best resume on the roster today.

He has not proven he is the best HW that is active, even today.

JDS' resume > Cain's for sure.

Lol at killing.

Prime Fedor vs prime Cain would be a hard fight for both and very competitive it can go either way.

There is no way Cains body would be able to repeat that today....he wouldnt even have the gas for 5 rounds of mauling JDS...and i hope JDS would do smth different.

But what about Juniors body?He seems to have taken the worst of the two...I honestly do not want to see them fight again ever

Definatly one of the best HWs ever plus he is a very cool dude.

Gotta go with Fedor.

25 (or perhaps 31 fight) fight win streak Vs 9 fight and a 4 fight win streak,

Win streaks at HW are rare as hens teeth.

31 fights including the top ranked guys without a legit loss is unheard of and will never be repeated, sure they weren't all JDS quality but plenty were, add in lots of big foot levels ones, then a whole bunch randoms who at HW are always dangerous.

That shit was insane.
