I get you homie. I've been here since around 2006 and feel similarly in many regards. UFC has gone down hill, forums have gotten a little quieter, and the mod team have kind of become reddit mod-ish compared to how this place felt 2006-2012 time frame specifically. I mostly come here for The Mayberry and occasionally check into the event discussions to see if the UFC is still a disappointment. I'd just step away for a bit dude, don't toss out your antique level account!

2FA was the final nail in the coffin. already losing space to echo chambers like reddit, they thought, or the owners thought, that's how we retain what little we have left!

early sherdog was fucking wild. people had thick skin back then. it truly was the wild west.

people here are more concerned about being "right" and echoing reddit talking points/mannerisms/thoughts. fuck reddit.

Holy shit, I had completely forgotten about the 2FA debacle somehow. People were pissed when that was first implemented. Haha pretty sure that's actually how I lost my first account now that I think about it (got locked out after changing phone numbers).

People definitely seemed to have thicker skin back then, though I think that's just true of the internet in general. It did seem like 25-30% of the forum had dubs at all times though lol.

it's hilarious how some posters people think make the site, i think are total garbage. and vice versa. my two cents, is, don't hang it up now days before a UFC card.

the PBP threads are the best part of sherdog now. most cave dwellers come back, ya see the familiar names pop up, and there are actually some chuckles here and there. that's the magic of the site now. all the retards come back for these PBPs and that's it.

i think there are maybe 3 mods here that i like, that can shoot the shit.

the 2FA debacle was really bad, i counted the weeks before they implemented it, and 100s of unique posters that were logging in every night have vanished. the numbers haven't been the same online. but they do pop up again for the PBP threads.

i can't stand reddit, sifting through shit just to find one guy who sort of knows what he's talking about, but even then he saw some instagram video and doesn't nail the proper feel of the moment.

it's unfortunate, but this is all we got for actual hardcore MMA discussion. i'm not going to go to whatever bullshit tapology is.

the more the old guard goes, the more history gets erased, the more this site goes down the toilet.

sherdog is the stubborn shit toilet paper clog that just won't go through yet.

I've been here since TUF1. I don't post much in UFC and I don't watch it anymore.

But I like Mayberry. It's still a cool place here.

Oh and Mods are WAY better than they were for a while there. I once got yellow cards for implying Reem wasn't all natural. It used to be super strict with stuff like fighter bashing and no ass floss. They've gotten much more relaxed. But they still have to crack down if someone is a total ass.

The mod team is much better than it used to be. I got banned for posting Misha Tate ass floss in the Heavies once. Just in a thong. Yeah, I'm biased, but I experienced that shit show first hand over the years. Trigger fingers used to be quite itchy. Yes, politics have never been more divisive than they are right now, and that's what gets a lot of people clipped, but they tend to have a lot more rope than they used to under the old guard - outside of the OT, that is.

Lately, I've lost interest in MMA. I quite dislike what the UFC has become.
