Bye Sherdog.

Seriously? Banning you from one forum seems more cruel than just banning you from the site altogether.
Yeah it was weird and no one even bothered to tell me why. I assume I was annoying the shit out of a mod or something.
Perhaps you can beg for reinstatement after a certain period of time.
I've thought about it. Too proud though.

Sure. One of them is posting on an MMA forum honestly. But posting on an MMA forum about topics that have nothing to do with MMA seems weird to me. Especially if you concede the MMA section of the MMA forum sucks.

In other words, why post here, when you could go to a dedicated non-MMA forum dedicated to whatever non-MMA topic (music, politics, etc) you wanted to talk about? Same reason I don't go to yahoo political threads in order to talk about MMA... I come to Sherdog for that.
Its not that deep.

I have not watched much in recent years and will be tuning in now that the product is available under one price tag that palatable. Sure we could stream it before but who wants to wrestle with a stream during a main event, total buzzkill
Sounds like you haven't streamed for a while, I've rarely had a dropped stream in around two years.

I mean, I understand what you're saying, bc I've been there, I'm just informing you that the advances in streaming technology have made it quite enjoyable and nothing like streaming DREAM/K1 Dynamite 2010 in 8p

I have no idea what's going on but it would suck to know mods and admins pushed someone out after almost 25 years, without reason. Keeping an account for 24 years suggests some restraint on the posters part, at least.

That said I've heard similar things from others before. <shrug>

I was around by different name starting sometime in the 05 range, hate to see an OG go.

Same here on all counts. My first, mostly stalker, account was 08. So nowhere near as OG as OP. . . and despite agreeing with pretty much all OP's points, . . . I still love MMA. I pretty much hate most commercial aspects of the UFC at this point, but there are still great, skilled fighters and, you know, entire other organizations and countries. But I used to fight and train mma, now only occassionally train it, and have been doing some kind of submission grappling wherever I've lived the last 20+ years. So . . . don't think I'm going anywhere.

most of the mayberry is people that lost interest in MMA years ago (but didn't make a gay ass thread about it shrieking for attention), but we all have our own people on here and a lot of us don't want to lose contact. so we go to the gay area of Sherdog and talk about gay shit with other people we know. It's basically a bunch of different groups of mates all calling each other gay on a daily basis while the actual gay ones slowly reveal themselves. it's gay as fuck, you'll fit right in

dunno, I have mixed feelings about the 'hey look at me' aspect of making a farewell thread.

but on the other hand, if you've been here long enough it kind of gets in your system as a part of you.

not sure complaining about mods/admin is gonna put you in their good graces. I've talked to enough
of them over the years about what a thankless, tiring and frustrating job it is, or can be.

as long as I've (actually) been here, I still love participating in the PbP during an event. Some very clever, knowledgeable
people here as well as damn funny and entertaining.
The other subs also offer fun and information at times.

Best of luck, broseph.

And as much as he might hate it, Sean O’Malley is not Conor 2.0 lmao
True. We really don't have any good Conor/Chael sort of fighter. I could tell you the face of the UFC since Chuck Lidell, but there's really no one. Alex Pereira is kind of it, but there's a real language barrier and personality side that is keeping him away from that, despite performing like a superstar.

Inoue has Nakatani and potentially Bam. Two huge fights, especially Bam. Beyond that 126 will be his last division but has tons of undefeated exciting champions ShuShu Carrington, Rafael Espinoza, Nick Ball....Featherweight is to me where he can solidify his greatness next to Pacquiao and Mayweather as arguably the greatest boxer of the last 26 years or not. Omar Navarez and Donaire are two hall of fame/hall of fame candidates Inoue has beaten at the lower weights when collecting titles and then Fulton was on a few p4p top 10 lists as an undefeated champion when Inoue mowed him down. But yeah, we will see. Boxing has issues too, but I just have enjoyed it more again and MMA less the last couple years.

Im not hopeful with the UFC. They are militantly against Russian and Central Asian guys, so you see Eduard Vartanyan go back to ACA, you see Razhabali Shaydullaev become a star in Rizin, Nemkov go back to PFL, you wonder if Shamil Musaev and Islam Omarov are the best in the world at their weighs, you watch Akbar Abdullaev and Sanzhar Zakirov become these exciting, young, future champs etc. Its actually too much of rejecting these guys and too much of signing random US, Mexican, Brazilian and British Joe's. They literally told Vartanyan and Nemkov to fuck off and they come from a part of the world with little value to the brand.

Beyond this the UFC isnt that good at promoting fighters and theres only mindless drones as media because theyre all bought. They signed a 7.7 Billion contract with Paramount for 7 years and they really still pay these fighters peanuts. It should be minimum 50k to show for any fighter in 2026 and they should have some very basic benefits at least. Its just whatever. I dont expect much anymore.
Hey I just hope you keep your eye for UFC, loved all your breakdowns of newer fighters even when they are from eastern Europe. There's a FLW not in the UFC yet called Bilal Hasan that is just like Bruce Lee and he's only 24, there's a few potential great fighters to sign over that aren't from those typical regions.

UFC is paying the price right now for opening up the gate up because Russians are so dominant, but as a fight fan I do want to see the best become champ, not keep potential better opponents out. It says alot that when they announced the Whitehouse card I had to scratch my head and think hard of who from the US can even represent the card to stack it. It really shouldn't be this difficult for the UFC to get some good American talent again, every year there are D1 stars that could be the next champion if they throw enough to sway them over. I don't understand it because American wrestlers used to pour over when money was even worse.

I think the majority of mods here are awesome, but I feel that there maybe too many mods. As a result, there is definitely not a consistency between how mods handle issues. And especially in the war room... let's just say some of the mods are very partisan in how they handle political issues.

I could say more but I don't want to promote this being a thread ranting about mods, because I do think the majority of them are great.

See join date? Been a while... I must be one of the oldest members in this forum. Opened an account when I was in high school, when Fedor was on the rise and Wandy was the most feared man im the sport. I'm 41 now.

Lately, I've lost interest in MMA. I quite dislike what the UFC has become.

And I have been pretty terribly treated by forum mods/admin recently.

So, goodbye it is. Have a good one champs.

I remember when the forums were white and red. Some of us have been banned multiple times. The dawg whispers to thee, in the late hours. You will return to us because you are a reflection of the site. Old, unique, misunderstood and sincere. There's not much room for that elsewhere.

I’ll speak from experience on this one

You guys have no idea how much time and care the mods her put into trying to get it right. Every decision, especially big an noticeable ones often has several mods weighing and and there are decisions that span hundreds of posts over certain infractions, bans etc.

That being said every mod is just a poster that decided to volunteer their time. So it’s hard to handle the volume needed on the forum with just a handful of people. It does require a legit full on team. People go through seasons of life and every season doesn’t include sherdog for some mods. So there’s always turnover and there’s always new faces but there are “pillars” that have been in place for at least a decade. And my that I mean mods like Jack and kowboy who sort of set the tempo and guide the rest of the mods in a way. And for the most part I have to say I objectively feel it’s gotten right 99% of the time. But then again, no one’s perfect so I’d say that’s pretty outstanding. After all mods are people too.
Love you Zeebs ...Enjoy the site , and whenever you're ready to come back... shoot I'll even call Jay on his day off to get you set back up. :)

They probably did it by accident and could never figure out how to fix it. Can we get a sherdog cold case mod to take a look at this?
