Buying rule for Costco?

dude buying rule is getting some chicken bakes outside and everything inside is cheap in bulk so buy buy buy.. Especially when they have bottles of Blue Label at like $120

Just got membership but I'm confused what are good deals at Costco. Several websites are conflicting.

Cheap:

1) Milk

2) vitamins

3) electronics (because of 2 year warranty and easy return)

4) common frozen food like Buffalo Wings is cheap. 5 lbs for $12.

Not to buy:

1) paper toilets & towels

2) candies

3) pasta

4) produce

One question though is the meat. Every site says they're a good deal because of quality but from local asian & mexican supermarkets in my area, it's about $1-$2 more per lb. What's the deal with this?
I don't know what a "paper toilet" is but I would also recommend you not buy that at any store.

I got a package of pasta and quinoa from costco at the beginning of the fall and still haven't worked my way through it. The only things I wouldn't buy at costco would be desktop pcs, books, cds, and dvds. Everything else is fair game and you'd be dumb to not take advantage of their amazing selections. Get the coupon books at the beginning of the month for extra savings.

Costco's return policy is so lenient. You can literally return half finished bottles of juice and they will give you a cash refund. I know this because my mom works at costco and has told me quite a few horror stories.

Costco sells vouchers for 2 movie passes + popcorn & drinks for slightly less than the theater charges for 2 tickets.

In before "who goes to the movies anymore?"

Chicken filets are awesome (they're thighs), Acai if your location has it, Greek yogurt, the frozen fruit is awesome (blueberries and strawberries), water bottles (Kirkland), multivitamins as you said, and many many more. And PIZZA!

7 dollar extra large (16 slice) with cheese and pepperoni at a place near me.

Quality is fantastic too, hand rolled dough.

Hawaii prices are a bit higher than the mainland. Still reasonable for a big ass pizza. :P

madelines and cake crust.

So good!

I like going there for a cheap lunch more than anything else. But they do have some really good boxed food like Orange Chicken and Tangerine Beef.

Believe it or not Costco's House brand "Kirkland Signature" is superior to almost any other nationally recognized brand.

Paper towels-yep
Toilet paper- yep (that's the #1 product they sell)
Vodka-it's distilled in France better than Grey Goose
Coffee-it's really Starbucks
Chicken breasts- they are Tyson
Baby Formula- better than Similac
Champagne- made from Grand Cru grapes
Wine- They sell more wine than any other retailer and own their own vineyards
5$ rotisserie chickens ftw

Costco takes quality very seriously...They carry Prime meat for Christ's sake

Costco is also a great company in general. They take very good care of their employees. They have little to no turn over and the lowest employee theft in retail.

The average employee(no college) is making around 45/50kyr with full benefits after 4 yrs.

$5 rotisserie chicken is the best deal in Town!! Can make a Sunday dinner for two & brownbag the leftovers thru Wednesday.

Rib-eye quality is FAR superior to Ralphs. Lamb is quality too.

Kirkland vanilla ice cream is well tasty.

Used to buy a ton of Zantac from there for cheap, but have improved diet so dont need anymore.

Adidas climalite workout gear. Tops are only $12.99. Shorts for $7.99.

Steer clear of their white sport socks though. Too thin & the soles go threadbare real quick.

When the hell did they ever sell Blue Label?! Shit!

Actually, one thing you can definitely load up on at Costco with significant savings over most retailers on a regular basis is Alcohol. Majority of the large bottles and cases are usually a few bucks cheaper than what you'd find it for at most places. Most places will sell 750ml of Crown Royal for around $30+ a pop. It's usually only around $23 at Costco.

i forgot, the food court here just started carrying a delightful hot turkey/pesto sammie, on a ciabatta bun. delicious!

I see Blue Label there all the time for 175$ but once in a while they will have it mark for 125$. i grabbed a bottle of Gold label for 50$ right before christmas.

go for paper towels - I have been using kirkland paper towels for all 18 years of my life and I have never encountered better ones.

kirkland green tea is the shit; its healthy too. you can buy packs of 40 or 50 that have apple, lemon, and peach flavors. they're all good. don't buy the bottles that look like regular water bottles, get the rectangular ones.

kirkland undershirts are nicer than any other brand I've worn.

apparently their coffee is pretty good too.

EDIT: and this goes without saying, but $1.50 for a big hotdog and a big soda? what the fuck are you waiting for?

I bought a single slice of pizza today and it was larger than my head. Costco is the best

This thread has caused me to seriously reconsider getting a membership with them again.
