Best ever?

Undefeated in his career, but his UFC run as follows:

OSP
Cormier
Glover
Gusstafsson

Sonnen
Belfort
Rashad
Machida
Rampage
Shogun
Bader
Janitor
Vera
Hamill
O'Brien
Bonnar

In my humble opinion, that is the most impressive winning strength of schedule in the history of MMA. Beating Gus, Glover and Cormier in a row is likely the most impressive feat at light heavyweight so far, considering how good we know those three fighters are.

I would say Jones is the greatest of all time - the best fighter we've ever seen - if he didn't fail a PEDS test. I think it is only fair to take that into account.

Mighty Mouse has a more moderate strength of schedule considering how thin the division is. Light heavy is also very thin compared to deep divisions like 155/170, but still should be considered more competitive up top than flyweight.

In my mind, Mighty Mouse is the best overall fighter today considering his skill, athleticism, variety of techniques applied and domination of his division. Jones would be #1 for me if he didn't fail a test, which suggests he was cheating for some of his wins.

Guys like Silva are way behind, same with Fedor. They are greats in their respective division, in the time that they ruled, but not greats in the sense of overall time and all divisions.

His striking skills are garbage. His best move is the eye poke.

I think he is #2 to Fedor.

When Fedor was Fedor, he was incredible.

Nobody who really knows MMA thinks there was a fighter better than Jonny Jones

Fighters in the UFC that are better than jones currently:

Conor
Cruz
DC
TJ
Joanna
Rockhold

Also, GSP is a bigger GOAT

It will depend on how the 2nd half of his career goes before I could say that about him. Silva, Fedor, GSP still above him. But if he remains undefeated and maybe picks up some wins at HW, he is GOAT.

Jones is clearly the best ever. His screw-ups outside of the cage might've derailed his career, but what he did prior to the suspensions etc. already cemented his GOAT status.

He's an athletic freak. He's tall and lanky, but still one of the best wrestlers we've seen. Wrestling is arguably the best base for an MMA-fighter, but usually the downside is that you have these short, stocky guys who can't do much else on the feet but trow haymakers.

Jon is the complete opposite. He is a great point fighter on the feet, with a very varied arsenal of strikes. Elbows, knees, roundhouse kicks, oblique kicks, side kicks - you name it. He can literally end the fight in every way imaginable. He can bully you in the clinch, throw you to the ground, GNP the shit out of you with elbows, drain you with body kicks and knees and remove your mobility by stomping your knees (and yes, occasionally gouge your eyes out, but let's ignore that).

On top of his sheer athleticism, skill and creativity, he has one of the best ring IQ's I've ever seen. He comes with a master gamelan prepared for every fight - even when just coming off a weekend of cocaine. He also seems to almost want to challenge himself at times. As if he's trying to prove something. He often tries to beat his opponent at their own games, like when he spent a hole fight dirty boxing with Glover. It's fucking amazing and ya'll hater should be ashamed of yourself for not appreciating greatness when it's snorting a line of cocaine in yo' face.

Sorry, I can't consider a cheater the best in any sport

This ^^^^^. Is Lance Armstrong the best Cyclist? Is Ben Johnson the fastest man? Cheaters cannot be the best at anything because they achieved their results different than their competitors.

People are too quick to forget how good past fighters were. Jones resume is good but no better than Chuck Liddell or a bunch of others. 10 years from now Jones fans who claim he is the best ever will be saying he only beat cans and was never any good while they swing on the new temporary GOAT's nut sack.

Considering I've never seen him win a fight without poking his opponent in the eyes multiple times, fuck no.

Lol no.. the dude has great psychical advantages over his opponents before anything else.

Stipe, Cain beat his ass and the difference will be like 10 lbs if that.. would you call them the best fighters ever.. c'mon now.

Not a big fan of Jon Jones fakeness but he is one the most talented guys ever and probably the greatest fighter as of today. Easily the LHW GOAT. No one even comes close to him. Obliviously he does have weaknesses like all great fighters and will lose one day.

I do however feel some of his wins are overrated and all the eye poking stuff sucks.

Is there a fighter better than fighter than prime Jon Jones, now or ever?

Does anyone have his blend of raw talent, athleticism, creativity and skill?

He may not have accomplished as much as Fedor or Anderson, or maybe even GSP - but he might be a better fighter than any of them. In fact you'd be crazy not to favor Jon Jones over prime Anderson and he'd probably beat Fedor as well

You decide
GOAT or MDE [Most Dominant Ever] ?

Jones is tall and awkward. He is a sloppy striker who relies on eye pokes and sticking his fingers in his opponents face as defense. Anderson Silva had a size advantage over most of his competition just like Jones but Silva was actually coordinated and had skilled striking.
