Imo Colby ducked this matchup when they were both in their primes. Colby was selectively fighting old guys while Burns was facing all the young, rising contenders. But now that Burns is 38 and on a 3 fight losing streak its possible Colby might actually accept this matchup. And I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Colby has a good chance of winning that. We don't want that now do we?

Gilbert is so washed
So is Colby. He's not gonna accept a fight with someone who is obviously going to beat him. I think Burns has a decent chance of winning.

I'd be shocked if Colby actually returns to MMA. I'm sure he'll try to squeeze a few bucks out of the WWE until they quickly realize that he's tiny, has no training, is physically past his prime/not that level of athlete, has a generic look, is actually very poor on the mic, and is nowhere near as famous as he thinks. I'm sure that'll last for about 2 weeks tops so I predict he'll be starting a shitty podcast by the middle of summer

I doubt WWE looks at this guy and show any interest

this makes sense. i like it. gimme it. NOW

Both need to retire, I'd give this fight a wide berth if it was made.

It'd be sensible, I think Colby would have won this before but will lose now.

Funny...Chael told DC this week that Burns was out of the pool and effectively retired...apparently this upset Burns, who posted Chael's phone # on twitter? lol

Do you really want to see Burns hurt?

Colby's lightning punches and power would decimate him.

Bad match up for Colby if we're talking prime to prime. Now I'm not so sure.

they both have fell off hard i dont know who to pick

His defensive wrestling looked good enough against Brady that I think he should be able to shutdown current Colby.

I mean over nearly 40 minutes we have seen Colby look lost on the feet and get overpowered whenever he tried to wrestle now, Burns at the very least had moments where he looked competitive in his fights, and was even ahead against JDM.

It's a Jacare/Weidman type matchup to me. Both guys are washed up but at least one of them still has spots where he looks decent and seems in better shape.

Good breakdown of the situation. I agree with most of it except one thing: Colby didn't look all that lost vs Buckley. Yeah he got his ass beat but that cut was a game changer too.

I don't know. I guess i'd still pick Burns because he's been active competing with the best, but I also don't know where he's at right now. It's a good fight to make actually.
