OH ok.... So we teach that the founders recognized the importance of freedom that they were willing to go to war because they felt they weren't being represented in the English government..... But that black people being actual property wasn't something worth fighting over.You teach that many were against slavery but had to compromise to found the country. That you have to take in to consideration the times when you judge a persons life. You teach how slavery was without telling students that all white people at that time were worthless racist.
You want to teach the truth then tell them that the north didn't fight to free slaves. You teach the south fought over states rights but the main right they fought for was to protect the institution of slavery.
There is a way to love your country and be proud of the good things and still not over look the bad.
Lol I don't see how you can make this history seem something so positive. Just teach the shit without a spin or federal government intervention.
