Buffer on Conor: "Never Forget Where You Came From"

Buffer / Conor hater logic:

Robert De Niro would have been shooting commercials for local car dealerships if Scorsese didn't cast him in Taxi Driver. De Niro should have been forever grateful and never demanded more money for future roles.

Brady should have been just thankful for the opportunity and even after all his success should have told the Patriots I couldn't have done it without you so you can pay me the average QB salary.

Mike Tyson should have donated all his earnings to Cus D'mato, for without him he'd have been nothing more than a street thug.

Conor should deserves no more than mighty mouse, forget the fact he literally draws 8 times his viewers, pay him the same, no special treatment. He'd be back in Ireland installing toilets without the good samaritan UFC, who haven't benefited at all from his numbers.

Conner, Nate, leave the fucking UFC behind! Fight on July 4th on your own PPV and blow these corporate d-bags up! War Diaz! And Connor good on you for taking the real fight like a man (even though you got your ass beat!)

UFC's negotiating team using Conor's #1 training pal Artem Lobov as a negotiating tactic...

Love the gif, pimp

But that's like saying you should be eternally grateful to your boss because you'd be on welfare if he didn't employ you. Does that give him a right to treat you how he likes?

So now Conor is a victim of maltreatment?

Very well said Buffer, totally agree with what he said. Conor made a huge mistake, he will realize this.

The Ferittas own the UFC, Dana is but a puppet. The Ferittas damn well would still be at the very least Mayweather rich, if not billionaires regardless of the success of UFC, so they don't owe none of dese bums nothin'.

When Conor bashed snake in the grass TJ Dillashaw, he talked about loyalty and never biting the hand that feeds you. This is exactly what he's doing. The difference is Faber is but a fighter, whereas the Ferittta bros are billionaires worth more than 4 Mayweathers put together. You try biting that hand, you gonna get stomped to death.

Dillashaw didn't do anything wrong and the snake in the grass thing is retarded, however his situation is not comparable at all with this. McGregor not wanting to do a specific press conference on short notice is hardly biting the hand that feeds, and he no longer owes them any loyalty.

UFC = Bob Arum and Don King, except 100x greedier and shadier.

Weidman v Rockhold
Jones v heavyweights
RDA v Khabib
Mcgregor v Frankie
Robbie v Thompson
Ronda v Holli
and ill give uriah vs cruz an honorable mention just because I hope uriah can pull it off

only fights i'm really hyped to see this year

Exactly, at least in boxing, stars get the lionshare of the revenue. in MMA/UFC, the promoter is supreme. however, boxing promoters are hated while people nut hug DW LOL.

Nobody got mistreated here. The UFC made millions off the buzz Mystic Mac generated and Conor made millions off of fighting for an established organization and undisputed king of all MMA promotions. They used each other to make money. It's the American way. Now it's just a question of who has more leverage / gets to call the shots. Fedor's people tried the leverage play and we saw how that turned out. Bottom line is the UFC was willing to cave on a lot of Conor's demands (like leaving a Title belt swaying in the wind while he went chasing glory in another weight class...) but at some point a decision was made to put the proverbial foot down to make a point to McGregor and any other fighters with similar ambitions. The UFC bosses know that there will be no money left on the table because whenever Conor does fight the money will be there - it doesn't have to be at UFC200. McGregor's name alone sells tickets, so maybe its better to have him fight at a lower weight class where there's a better chance of a victory so as to recover some of the shine that came off due to the loss to Nate. Trash talking is great, but without the W's to back it up the hype soon fades (see Chael Sonnen).

I agree that you shouldn't just take shit from your employers if they are mistreating you. On the other hand, when/if you do take a stand, be prepared and don't be surprised if they push back...

"Conor made a wrong decision in making that choice."

"Don't go against Dana or Lorenzo. They made you millions."

Just heard him doing a radio interview. Had some strong opinions on Conor's decision.

Nothing funnier than some fool quoting Bruce as if his opinion matters. He's a fake personality who is "famous" for saying It's time.. That is quite an academic accomplishment, so I am obviously concerned about what Bruce thinks.

What I'm saying is that the premise that he should be grateful to them or whatever because he would be fighting cans in Ireland is false. Now it's a relationship and it's about what they can do for each other. Now it's business. Gratitude is a thing of the past.

LOL do you bums not have jobs?

Would love to see one of you guys stand up to your boss at work... You wont have a job much longer. Everyone knows to move up you have to perform and suck up to the man aka your boss. Tell your boss you cant make the corp meeting today because you dont feel like your being paid right... LOL bye always someone else willing to do the work. Dont bite the hand that feeds you simple as that. At the end of the day whos name and bank account are your checks coming from?

Get Conor's nuts out of your mouth

Buffer is made by dana and lorenzo, conor is not. conor transcends the brand and he was special since day one.

Conor's compensation for all the great promotional work he has done and the money he generates for the UFC is his hefty paycheck. You can't not promote a fight. I've never heard of a fighter not promoting their fight. The UFC doesn't owe him a thing because they pay him very handsomely. It's not like he's some underpaid mma fighter. It's a business. You don't get paid in favors--you get paid in cash and he gets tons of it.

Conor won't forget where he came from... He's always banging on about Ireland.
