I feel like Alex Jones with a chalkboard right now, as I'm seeing a lot of things aligning for a major shift in the business side of MMA with the possibility of a new promotion.

In the latest episode of the Fighter and the Kid, Brendan Schaub alluded to Joe Rogan potentially leaving the UFC sometime within the next couple years. Joe has hinted at this himself, presumably as a contract negotiation tactic, but maybe he's being honest. Joe Rogan is a part owner of Onnit. Onnit just started hosting their own Jiu Jitsu invitational, which Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen of TFATK just announced. Meanwhile, the Fertittas are currently in negotiations to sell UFC to China Media Capital.

What if Joe is planning on leaving the UFC to be the face of a new MMA promotion at Onnit, or at least in relation to Onnit. The UFC is currently losing a lot of fighters to the Reebok deal. The Fertittas are possibly dumping the UFC, in which case, one could assume the situation may get worse and they'd hemorrhage even more fighters, with only Bellator as the real contender to pick up the pieces. If Joe and Onnit started a new promotion, the only thing missing is major financial backing. UFC was bankrolled by the Fertittas, while Bellator is owned by Viacom. Maybe the Fertittas want a do-over with some new business model behind a new promotion?

Joe+Onnit+TFATK+(Fertittas?) = new MMA promotion?!

And no, I don't smoke weed.

what fighters will he get? ufc has a monopoly and controls 90% of the fighters.

No.

Because the new owners of the UFC would have the Fertittas and White sign a non-compete clause.

dont smoke weed but i reckon you smoke crack

Good point. But couldn't Onnit serve as a loophole to that if they acquired Onnit and the Promotion they've already in a sense started with the Jiu Jitsu tournaments?

No.

Not if the Fertittas and White are involved.

out of curiosity, who's the girl in the TS' avatar?

but you take mushrooms right? ayahuasca? you certainly take some psychoactive lol

Are rumors of a sale a way to inflate the value of the ufc? You know, in case they go public.

*best Callen impersonation *

uh guys, uh I'm gonna go out on a limb here, hear me out. ok guys you ready? here goes
lets say Onnit MMA puts on fights with no weight cuts, more weight classes, small 4 fight shows. no championship fights just random fights of unknown guys wanting to get their names out there. hand picked by rogan and the guys at Onnit. Joe Hogan knows his shit with friends and connections in all Gyms. with the real guys who no one knows or wants to give a shot to. boom

TS, to talk about one of your points about about the UFC losing fighters. They sign fighters as well, their roster is not getting any smaller. The ones they are losing to Belletor are the fighters that they dont intend on keeping to the point they will outbid Belletor.

Joe Rogan's contract is up this August and he has stated many times he is considering leaving and as many times as he has talked about it I think he is leaving and he wants Brian Stann to fill his spot

My girl says she loves your heart shaped gold pendant TS, just joking she said it looks stupid, pretty much sums up this thread.

IF the UFC were to get sold there will be a clause preventing them from starting\financing any other promotion.

You're almost there...

What you fail to realize is that this deal with the Chinese media company is a just a front to funnel money through China, into Iran, and over to the PLF in order to bolster the opposition against ISIS. It was discovered that Helwani was actually a Mossad agent, which explains why he was fired.

The chips are stacking up for a big move against ISIS, which was created by the Americans and Israel to destabilize the region.

Putin did his part with his interference in Syria, which is also why Fedor refuses to fight for the UFC.
