but he chose not to out of respect. That was a full extended armbar, he chose not to arch all the way because he respected Roger.

And by quality he means fucking terrible.

Ya he couldnt have tapped Roger or anything

Is this the thread I say guard pulling is for pussies... just to keep the general tone and level of conversation going?

Nah, Rafa would tap me in 20 or 30 seconds... after pulling guard. Nice troll thread though

Buchecha did tap Roger. He just kept the match going out of respect for Roger.

Does anyone know if roger is fighting at worlds? I could've swear I saw an interview saying he would.

I also think he will beat buchecha the next time they fight.

Op is probably trolling, by the way I don't know which I find sillier, to think that the best Bjj competitor ever who already escaped fully sink submissions by other legends in their prime couldn't escape an armbar, or Buchecha not tapping out somebody like him just out of respect.

Queen B, do you poorly attempt to troll every forum on here?

I mean, at least don't make it so obvious. Stick to the PBC bashing threads.

He was planning to do it, but ONE FC contacted him after that for that fight of last Friday and than he said he would have no time to prepare properly to fight the worlds

Didn't get to watch but who doesn't finish "intentionally''?

I'm bummed then.

Did he say that in an interview?
It's not much time till the worlds but since he didn't even get tired in his fight maybe he could give it a try.
If he plans not to get destroyed by Buchecha he must have been preparing in the gi a bit.

No, he said it here at the academy

Didnt Hughes let go of subbing Royce because he knew he wouldnt tap, was already winning and respected him too much to snap his arm?

He knew he wasn't going to tap after applying it and breaking the arm in a straight lock is more difficult, so he switched to beating him until the ref stopped, still finishing him. Hughes has gone on record saying he wanted to show american wrestling was great and needed to be respected also; IE him getting dominant position and launching punches. He still finished. He didn't not finish the fight to let Royce lose via decision/points because of some "oh gracie respect" BS.

Edit: Finish your damn sammiches people (opponents).
