Buakaw boxing match

Don't forget Saensak Muangsurin/Boonsong Mansri who was a Lumpinee Stadium champion. He set the record for fewest professional fights needed to win a world title (3) in boxing. Lomachenko tied this record years back but he still did it quicker by 11 days.
good call - i remember learning about him from a youtube vid by OfficeHancho. i dont speak Thai at all so the names are pretty difficult for me to remember.

I don't think buakaw in his prime could have beaten current Pacquiao in a boxing match
Current Pac is absolutely shot. He looked laughable in his last exhibition but he'll be 46. I'd take Buakaw over the current version of Pac. That said the washed but still world level version of Pac that beat Thurman would beat Buakaw.

Great assessment. I think if Buakaw started boxing younger he could have been a champ there too like he transitioned for kickboxing. He always had tons of power and his 15 second check hook KO in K1 still might be my favorite KO ever

Yeah, I think he likely would've won a world title at the very least. He has all of the attributes to accomplish it. The athleticism, work ethic, stamina, toughness & durability needed to succeed.

I'd like to see what his clinch game looks like in boxing. As far as the Thai plum is concerned there are boxers that will occasionally use a single collar tie and sometimes even a double against their opponents in the ring. Robson Conceicao is one of them. Additionally, I'm curious to see how much control he'd have employing a traditional boxing clinch (over-unders). I'll bet he's strong as hell regardless of the type of clinchwork used and could probably ragdoll most boxers.

Well, he hadn't until this match lol. Still looked good for his age and background against a game opponent in Kozi. Kozi took one of Floyd's boxers to a decision too and fought Takeru and Tenshin in KB without getting KOd and went decision also. He's tough and hard to finish. Buakaw did a bare knuckle boxing match he won by left hook to the body. He's the GOAT kickboxing Muay Thai fighter and definitely could have been a boxing champ too

He’s not the GOAT in any of those sports.

The Muay Thai GOAT would be Dieselnoi, Samart or Somrak and the kickboxing GOAT is Petrosyan.

His pure boxing is among the worst ever. Kickboxers like Masato, Holzken, Petrosyan, and Grigorian would knock him out in a boxing match.

He has a case for second best kickboxer but his boxing really sucks.

Buakaw is widely recognized as the kickboxing GOAT p4p over Petrosyan. He won K1 max twice Petro only won once. Nobody ranks Petro over Buakaw. He beat and absolutely tooled Holzken in kickboxing and Masato. Wasn't even close. And he beat Petro the draw was because it was in Europe and it went decision to protect his record. Petro got KOd in Glory by a nobody lol. Buakaw won and Superbon his prodigy KOd him into retirement. And his boxing evolved and got way better as he adapted to kickboxing. He would adapt to boxing the same as he did kickboxing. To say his boxing really sucks is just low effort bad trolling. Stay ducking

God, you’re retarded.

Petrosyan only won K1 once? He literally won it back to back in 2009 and 2010.

How the fuck can you pretend you watch kickboxing and you don’t know he won K1 twice?

He also has a Glory title and a ONE title. That’s 4 major titles vs Buakaw’s 2.

And his kickboxing record is 106 wins and 3 losses. Nobody even comes close.

Who’s the fucktard who told you Buakaw was ranked higher in kickboxing? Your drinking buddy?

Here’s somebody with real credentials who actually knows wtf he’s talking about:

He didn't win against Zambidis even Bas Rutten thought iron Mike won that. You clearly didn't watch. Won K1 at the end against lesser comp or old vets. And his One title was a joke lol he lost to Petch. They literally overturned it because Chatri and Petro cried and it ruined their little tourney. And you resort to insults because you're a man child who ducked in the stand up forum when someone called you out on your BS. Duck

You literally think Petrosyan only won K1 MAX once, kid. There’s no coming back from that.

Your opinion on who should have won what and some bs story you made up are both irrelevant.

I watched it live on hdnet, he didn't win. Go watch don't just go off wiki. Petro isn't considered goat over Buakaw. Commentary was very biased Voice has a hard on for Petro like you. Go look up Gabriel Varga Glory kickboxing champ he agrees Buakaw is p4p #1 all time

I literally just posted a video of Gabriel Varga picking Petrosyan over Buakaw. You can’t even get one fact straight, lmao.

He's said both could be. I've talked to him on video chat before and he has an account here lol. You clearly like starting arguments doing fuck boy shit like this often going by your post history so I'll stop replying. Someone didn't get enough attention? You're embarrassing. Wild mods haven't banned such a shit troll

Ok, Mr. 2024 join date.

You’re obviously one of the trolls who got banned from f11 multiple times for talking shit despite not knowing shit. Stay mad.

There is very big difference between stadium MT rules and K-1 and even bigger in pro boxing.

In stadium MT you might keep hold mainly foe timeframe when you are active in clinch.
A lot of KB rules and a lot of pro and am boxing coaches doesn't loves to see supposedly inactive guy in clinch etc....
There are also different rules etc.

Buakaw I had posted years ago sometimes was good to play boring clinch till explosive fast action.

While ad pure boxer he was not like top level potential at all.

There's a few dudes who started in Muay Thai and went over to boxing with good success. Veerapol Sahapram, Samart and Pongsaklek Wonjunkam are ones that immediately come to mind. In Ponsaklek's case, he really cemented himself as an all time great in his weight class that he racked up all the defenses in.
But those dudes are the exception. The striking is just so different.

Buakaw is a bad dude though. Love watching him and his style. I think if he never went into Muay Thai he could've made a good run in boxing.

(I hope I'm spelling the names right, it's from memory)
Virtually every Thai boxer came from a Muay Thai background.

Btw here's the breakdown from him and says Buakaw boxing and skills looked great
