Bryce should have never fought emmett, i hate dana

It is always interesting when I read this type of comment because people don't bat an eye on this board when an idiot walks into a gym and challenges an instructor or professional fighter and receives a good dose of public humiliation. This is no different. He, and all the people who lack critical thinking skills (fanatics of any sort), deserve, and I do mean deserve, a huge helping of public humiliation. Doesn't matter if he isn't the progenitor of such thoughts. Sometimes you gotta be smacked in the face (repeatedly) in order to turn inward.

Glad you agree with me on this. Making a fool of someone who certainly is a fool is a much better place to get someone to actually think about why they're being laughed at. Hating someone for something they believe is the best way to make them stubborn and double down on that stupidity. In the sherdog WR this is replicated a hundred times a day. Obviously the opposite sides of emotion produce the opposite reactional mindset. Good point.

On your example; When I see those dudes who walk in off the street into fight gyms and get humbled real quick it's always amusing and I'll never understand what the fuck they were thinking! Lol

I just wonder what would have happened had he managed to get one takedown… we will never know damnit.

My thoughts exactly, absolute nightmare style matchup and you have a 39 year old guy obliterating the senses of an up and coming 29 year old contender.

Oh cut the shit. Bryce has been in the UFC for 6 years and this was his 9th UFC fight. He's a veteran at this point.

Emmet is aging out and coming off back to back losses where he got wrecked. This was totally reasonable match making.

The only reason to disagree with it is if you wanted the UFC to hand pick an easy fight for Bryce.

Might be time to admit he's just not that good.

Dude looked terrified on the feet against Emmett.

I think ultimately he's a "good not great" fighter because 145lbs is talent rich and you need more than one dominant skill.

He's got time to improve, but we may be looking at his ceiling. I don't mean to make it personal, but he comes off pretty gullible and uneducated every time he opens his mouth. I have a doubt someone like that can make smart decisions with their career development.

I really can't see him improving much with the "gym" he trains at. His striking as pretty much looked the same since day 1. And as you said he doesn't seem like the brightest guy, so I doubt he's gonna acknowledge these issues and jump ship to another gym and take things more serious.

Emmett is pretty well the gatekeeper at FW nowadays. We just saw Yair and Topuria dispatch him with relative ease. If you're getting washed by Emmett the way Bryce did - you're not champ material, sorry.

Lol I don't understand the idea of sheltering fighters from others. Bryce has already fought guys like Barboza who could have knocked him dead too. But now suddenly little ol Josh Emmitt was irresponsible matchmaking and Mitchell should be fighting safer competition? Bryce isn't in his 2nd fight. This is his 9th UFC fight and guess what? If you keep winning, you fight better guys. Tough business.
Topuria was on his 6th UFC fight when he took out Emmett, and his 5th fight when he schooled Bryce.

The lack of experience thing is rubbish - Bryce just ain't elite in that FW division.

josh emmett is 38.

if anything, he was picked for bryce to look good, and it backfired.

i absolutely loved it. bryce is such a fucking dumbass, i enjoyed seeing him get sent into the shadow realm. was it the first punch emmett landed?

Weirdo

I had no idea how Bryce was supposed to win this fight when they signed it and said so before the fight happened.

My only concern was if the Ilia fight took too much out of Josh but it clearly didn't. Emmett is still a tough out for anyone even at his current age. He still looks good in there.

Bryce was EXPOSED big time. (I guess Ilia already exposed him but i feel the Emmett fight confirmed it). His standup is bad and he's not super quick at shooting for TDs nor is he particularly strong looking for the weightclass.

I don't see him doing well against most top fighters.

Wasn't it a short notice fight as well? I'm just saying, I think he has good charisma and star potential. I think he should be treated like Paddy, Pereira, Gane, etc in terms of matchup favorability, until he gets near the top.

So, the UFC shouldn't match up 1 fighter with another if the other fighter will beat them? It's tough to say someone is a contender if they can't get past the old guard. Yair beat Emmett a few months after he turned 30. Bryce is 29, and has been fighting professionally for almost 9 years. If he isn't ready for Emmett now, he will likely never be.

Not saying that, but to use an extreme example, imagine if the UFC matched a 40 year old Jacare with Alex Pereira. You derail a potential up and coming star by putting him in a nightmare matchup against someone from the old guard whose career is almost over.

What are the softer match-ups for him that are ranked above him? Who would you suggest?

Bryce’s issue is that his training isn’t good. He moved to James Krause but that coach was banned from the UFC for illegal gambling.

Bryce took the fight on short notice, against a jacked vanilla gorilla, who cuts from 200 lbs +. This was nothing but a favor to the UFC, to secure some more money for his baby, and he's a company man. I don't think it was worth the floor convulsing brain tap, but what do i know? Not sure why the UFC even set that one up. "I know we'll have the guy who primarily wrestle fucks opponents, come in on short notice, against a dude who has trained 6-8 weeks with the worst intentions and previous hellacious KO victories, this will be good for our product, our roster, and the health of everyone involved. Word."

Why not?

Isn't it God's plan for him in his words?

Clearly God wanted him to get knocked the fuck out and spasm on the canvass for the amusement of people such as myself.

Gotta disagree my guy... Every person with a platform spreading bullshit like that just makes the whole situation worse.

He's harmful and doesn't really deserve a platform.

Political differences is one thing, religion is one thing, but I draw the line at easily provable scientific facts being denied by these fucking losers.
Literally just logged in to say f these people. They are part of the problem. Total delusional idiots. A little humble pie hopefully does him some good but I doubt it.
