I was listening to a podcast and the hosts mentioned that Bryce apparently said he considered retiring after the Topuria fight, because the beating he took was so bad. Is that true? Does anyone know where he said this, because I'd like to hear what his words were precisely?

You'd think this is the shot he would have retired on:

Alot of fighters briefly consider retirement after a hard loss. I heard Mirko considered it after either the Randleman or Fedor loss, I forget which.

There's alot of dark shit that people dont ever know about that happens.

I wish he would've retired after Emmett sent him to the shadow realm.

“I’m just feeling ... I guess regret, you know?” an emotional Mitchell said. “I just know I could have done better. I’m just in so much pain that I don’t think it’s worth it to keep going. I want to stop with MMA and I want to take every little bit of focus that I spent every day on MMA, I want to put it into something else. That’s why I’m just saying I should f—ing retire after that dude before I go any further, and move on with my life. I just don’t ever want to feel this much pain.”

Retirement is the best solution for him as it gives him a chance for reinvention.

Believe it or not, there have been total POS people like him that have reinvented themselves over time and become decent people.

Not very likely to happen to Bryce, but quitting MMA would be a start. Otherwise, the CTE and negative attention-whoring is only going to make him worse.

Maybe pondered a career as a Nazi instead?

There was video right after fight where he said wanted to end it

he also cried and said “he could have died” if Josh Emmet followed up rather than the walking off after ktfo him.

Dude is scared of taking damage and hates fighting , guys like Gracie are perfect opponents for him

I think he's misguided and ignorant, but I really don't think he's a bad person.

There's the physical beatings and the mental/emotional part of it as well. The mental/emotional side of losing is much less understood than the physical in my opinion.

Yeah I mean everybody forgave Mark Wahlberg, but he really was a piece of shit ahah

holyfield wanted to quit boxing after he lost to riddick bowe after their first fight (and holyfields first loss as a pro).

first loss hits the hardest (especially if you get beat up in the process). You go from thinking your invincible to realizing your only human. It really plays on the confidence of a fighter. The great ones can reprocess the loss and come back to be successful.

Funny how he blamed the flu for the Topuria loss. If only there was some kind of preventative treatment for that...
