Media Bryce Mitchell Opens As MASSIVE Underdog vs Jen Silva

Makes sense, Bryce is pretty damn shitty on the feet and he's only finished two guys in the UFC so far. Imo this looks like his fight with Ige only that he won't be able to log in enough control time to steal rounds.

Because it's clear he should be matched up with someone higher ranked. Jean Silva deserves better. Fighters should be matched with guys they have decent odds with if they are on a hot streak no matter the rank.

I wonder how much you could get for an anti-fighting nerds parlay of Bryce and Geoff Neal to beat Silva and Prates. I think both are great underdogs considering the insane odds.

Jean Silva was getting taken down repeatedly by Jourdain and Prates almost reminds me of Thomas Almeida in that he kind of lacks the athleticism to be an elite fighter.

Odds aren’t always based on skill, Jean has the hype and a lot of people hate Bryce right now. Skill for skill though Bryce could wear on him for sure, and his ground game is not to be overlooked he has some of the best top control at FW.

Also Jean has good power but it’s not as earth shattering as people think, he’s no Josh Emmett by any means and seems to be a volume striker with above average power.

Bryce isn't going to win. He already barely had a functioning brain and then he got that massive ko and he is done. Dude is washed

i'll take a volume puncher with above average power over Josh "i only know how to throw wild overhand rights one at a time" Emmett any day.

you're right about the odds. it's not about skill, it's about how many people are betting one side, the oddsmakers will change the odds according to that. it really has nothing to do with skill.

Bryces only prayer is getting it to the ground.

Standing, he is going to get lit the F up.

He will likely be twitching in a semi coma again at the end of this one.

Like I said in the Justin/Fiziev thread. Opening odds are set to grab the early money. But can easily go the other way by the closing odds. Or at least much closer than we see sometimes.

hopefully Bryce can generate enough density in order to get Silva to the ground. since we know gravity was a lie.

The odds represent good value for a bet on Bryce, and I expect they will narrow between now and fight night.

Still, I hope and believe that Jean will beat him...-450 makes that bet very unattractive though.

He looked good against Kron Gracie in his last fight.

I think this is close to 50/50 but leaning towards Silva so maybe 55 Silva/45 Bryce.

That's just not how books tend to operate, sorry. Usually, the books want the opening lines to be as accurate as possible in terms of where they think the betting public will be. They don't set lines incorrectly to entice opening bets on one side, only to then have to move the line to adjust to that action. It's why books so often have lower limits on their opening lines: they don't want sharps picking them off and hammering mispriced opening lines for large amounts of money.

The more a book has to move a line due to having mispriced it and too much action on one side, the more exposure the book has to an outcome. Which they usually don't want.
