Well I don't think any of the actions of the Jewish elite warranted 6 million random people to be slaughtered. Then again I don't think the decisions of the German leaders in WW1 warranted 20 years of international oppression for average Germans.

As far as Jewish elites there were many. They were at the forefront of the Bolshevik revolution that slaughtered millions of Russions. They were at the front of banking, wall street, and other financial institutions that fed off of average people. They were very prominent in the very Weimar government he lived under. So on and so forth. Why do you think Hitler was so strongly against them? Do you think he didnt have any at all basis for his anti-semitism? It's because Jewish elites were involved in so many things around the world that he determined was harmful, immoral, and part of a grand Jewish agenda.

Due you think there is any room to criticize Jewish culture/norms/behavior that doesn’t fall under the label of “antisemitism?” Is it offensive to highlight factors that led the German people to react so strongly against Jewish people?

For the record, I got my GED a month after I turned 17 and dropped out of school to work when I was 15. I skipped 4 years of high school completely and when I took my GED test I was the highest levels you could reach except math which was on an 11th grade level. Eh, whatever. I had an Associates degree at 19. I was working the whole time from 15 onwards while going to college at 17 and having a degree at 19.

i think it's a lot more because of how much of hitler's public rhetoric was directed at jews, and the sheer difference in numbers between jews he exterminated versus gays/blacks/slavs/etc.

Surely you can see the hypocrisy here. On one hand you say there nothing the Jews did to warrant slaughtering 6 million random Jewish people, which I'd agree with. But then you turn around and claim that the German people deserved 20 years of poverty and destitution. You make no exceptions for the average German citizen, including women and children, that had no say in the situation and may not even supported the war.

You feel totally confidant holding the German people fully accountable for the decisions the German leadership made. If that's the case why can't the Nazis hold Jewish people fully accountable for what the decisions and actions the Jewish elite may have done?

the numbers also aren't as high as i thought so i ninja edited. looks like about 1,800 died in the internment camps. and yes, in sheer scale, they aren't comparable but it's still a horrific atrocity.

It was also war time. Hitler started taking away Jewish rights a few months after taking office in 1933, long before the war started and 11,000 sent to Dachau a year before ww2.
