Bron Breakker or MJF?

I haven't seen as much of Bron as I have MJF, but I would lean toward Bron if I was "starting a promotion." MJF is a very good heel, but I don't see him getting beyond that one note and he's already getting a bit state. He's also small. I don't see him as a believable force - he's a talker who needs backup always. That can work to an extent, but I don't buy him as "the guy."

He's going to start running into guys he'll be hard pressed (no pun intended) to pull that move on when he's on Raw or Smackdown. Ciampa, Escobar, Waller, etc ain't Drew, Big E, or Roman. He's a medium sized mang with good genetics but that's only going to keep his shoulders healthy for so long in the W(wellness policy)WE. The Recliner is cool too, if a little basic.

Part of the problem is really how they give guys five moves and don't let them work in-between half the time. Sheamus has five finishers. Only one works for some reason. Sami never pins anyone with the Blue Thunder Bomb. Roman power bombs Brock off the second turnbuckle for two but a chest-high tackle does it? Get outta here wit dat shi mang.

Thanks. I thought he used the Recliner as his finish. Like I said, I don't watch much NXT. Will definitely be hard to get guys like Brock, Lashley, Omos up for that. Hopefully he's working on something cool that he can do to everyone.

Totally agree with your other post, btw. Guys have all these cool non-finishers that they use for near falls, but nobody ever bites because they NEVER get the pin. Imagine if Sami got some wins with the Blue Thunder, or Seth with the Phoenix Splash or Frog Splash, or Cesaro with that big uppercut. Would make those moments and kickouts much more meaningful and then you'd know it was serious if they had to bust out the big finisher for PPVs or other special matches.

That's why job guys and first hour guys like Disco and La Parka were so important. When you have someone on the rise, you feed them a guy like that every week or two and let them get different types of wins. Someone made a good point about the scripted shit needing to stop. If he had more freedom he MIGHT do better. Like just give him direction, this is where your promo needs to go, but no make them memorize word for word.

This...plus they need to remember than not everyone needs to make 10 minute promos...actually almost no one should be doing that including most of the people who do decent promos. Steiner's been fine when he sticks to 3 sentences or less about how he's going to pack your shit in.
