Not a fan of his by a long shot but I give credit where its due.

Seen a few of his fights and that to me is his biggest strength. It just might be the best in MMA.

He sucks standing as far striking goes but when he gets an opponent down its a different story with those knuckle draggers of his.

Ive actually never seen anyone hit as hard as he does from GnP positions.

Is this a stretch?

Yes, but be prepared to get a sh_tload of negative responses from insecure fanboys.

Fedor
Cain
Shogun
Munoz
Jones with elbows

All up there. Brock is too. Too hard to pick one.

It is brutal. Those shots on Hunt would have finished almost anybody besides Hunt. I think Hunt said Lebanner took a few years off his life. I think that fight did too.

He hits hard from those positions for sure, the only critique I'd have is that he was keeping his arm locked and straight whilst winging it, I think (correct me if I'm wrong), that he should be bending at the elbow and aiming the fist at the head instead of locking his arm and lugging it at Huntos head, some of his shots for example were landing with the outer edges of his hands (where his thumb is) as opposed to the knuckles.

I must be have been high as F last night. What fight did you guys watch? Lesnar didnt even bruise Hunts face. His punches were back to Mir 1 fight.

Best in MMA? LMAO Cain/Stipe/Overeem/Nelson are more effective.

idk about that gnp last night but i think Hunto gave up as soon as Brock picked is ass straight up of the ground like he was a child

He does hit like a truck, that much is evident.

He doesn't have the best GnP when he postures up but he easily has the best GnP from close, in tight positions. He was practically chest to chest on Hunt many times and the way he generates power with those shots was amazing. Normally fighters have to posture up in many ground positions to generate power and do damage but Brock's GnP is different. He doesn't need to posture up to generate power, just needs literally a few inches to slam his massive fists into your face and cause damage. Last night and the way he finished Randy are perfect examples.

Well Brock looked about 5 weight classes above Hunt... Even though they aren't that far apart. He's just ridic big.

All time in mma no it's not really up there
Brock has never knocked anyone out
People like shogun and Cain have far more dangerous gnp

I think he has more sheer power with his ground and pound than anyone. His technique could be polished up a bit to make it even more effective, but he's so strong he can still be very effective regardless. If he wasn't a terrible stand-up striker and had a better gas tank he would be a major threat to anyone.

I believe he beat Frank Mir's face to a pulp. I can't remember if the ref stopped the fight - but the Mir fight is pretty much evidence Brock can stop guys.
