Lots of familiar faces for Lesnar. How does he do against this division, and the three fighters who have talked about fighting at HW?

Brock beats anybody he can takedown and hold down. But he probably can't beat any of them any other way.

He ain't taking down Cormier, Cain or Jones, so he stands no chance there.

And many of them will be able to withstand the TD attempts for long enough that they could pop him a few times--send him dancing or turtle-ing...

I legitimately don't think he beats a single person on that list. MAYBE, MAYBE Derrick Lewis, but even that's a stretch.

Derrick Lewis had Gonzaga on his back and still managed to get up and knock Gonzaga the absolute fuck out. Black Beast has improved his cardio and ground defense while Lesnar hasn't fought since 2011. It's a somewhat close fight, edge to Lewis though.

Werdum, Reem, Cain, Stipe, JDS, etc all go without saying.

Arlovski has great TDD statistically and a lethal right hand. The first time he touches Brock he might actually shit his pants against his will.

Browne is pretty similar to AA. Great TDD, devastating elbows against the cage, and tough as nails. Bad matchup for Brock

Rothwell is WAY too durable for Brock to put away. He doesn't have the skillset to outpoint him even remotely close to the way JDS did, nor do I think he can hold him down or successfully get the takedown at the start of every round without panicking due to the constant pressure Big Ben puts on people. He'd eventually (T)KO him.

DC is a nightmare stylistically for Brock

Rumble a little less so, but again, if he touches Bork a single time he's utterly fucked beyond comprehension.

No idea about Jones. He'd have to acclimate himself to HW first.

BTW you really should've made the poll "who DOESN'T Brock beat" so you'd have gotten more results.

I don't think Brock in 2016 can beat any of the guys on that list. Perhaps Rumble if he can get him down. We need to see how he looks at UFC 200 to get a better idea too.

Do you want Silva dead?
it's the only fighter in the roster I'd favor Brock against. Maybe I got the facts wrong, but apparently Brock Lesnar has been improving none of his skills for the entirety of his period away from the UFC. And his camp for this fight is in his farm. I can eat my crows as I'm used to lately, but if my facts are right I can only favor Lesnar against the only guy I know who literally can't take a punch.

Kind of pointless until we see him fight for the first time in 5 years don't you think?

@KONE And Roy Nelson?

Similar to Rothwell. Way too fucking durable, would stalk Brock and if that right hand lands Brock is in some big ass trouble. He's also a BJJ blackbelt. Mir mounted him and had his back and he managed to get up.

That being said, if Roy showcases the same cardio issues he showed when he got clobbered by Mir, Brock can win. Roy got taken down by Mir almost at will in that fight. I wouldn't count on Roy's cardio being that fucking bad again though.

Bigfoot will get KO'd signing on the dotted line.

Of all these who listed I see him beating only 2 and that is Josh Barnett and Travis browne... Don't know who Derrick Lewis is

None, sorry but he beat herring who was on the downslide and gone soon after, Mir who I believe was tailor made for a big wrestler and a 40+ lhw who was holding the belt. He then got destroyed for a round by a guy who promptly gasses so bad he was going to pass out anyway. Those people do not exist in the division anymore.

Compared to Brock the division is full of killers. He had his time and the timing was perfect. I wish him well as I respect his desire to test himself and be a competitor but I don't see this Hunt fight going well at all. Maybe I am wrong.

I think Hunt was a bad choice for his return. They could have spun the whole revenge for ufc 100 thing and had Mir call him out or something. Hunt is a scary dude.

Could you imagine how that would look if Roy clobbered him though. You have this genetic freak get smoked by a bearded beer belly mullet guy. I love Roy but if you are Brock, being beat up by him would hurt the image.

Roy and Hunt vs Kongo is a funny example of this. If we go by looks alone Kongo is probably the GOAT

I think Lesnar has a good shot against anyone who doesn't have great striking prowess or great wrestling. I could see him doing well against these fighters:

Werdum
Barnett
Arlovski
Rothwell
Travis Browne is a bit of a toss-up.

Miocic, Overeem, JDS, Anthony Johnson, and Overeem are terrible matches for Lesnar because of their striking skill and power. Hunt is slightly better because he'd be easier to takedown.

Cain, Cormier, and Jon Jones both have the wrestling ability to counter Lesnar's biggest talent.

I'll answer this poll after I see him fight.
