You mean, James Thompson. Mariusz was past his prime when he left Strongman competitions. He entered MMA in 2009 when he was already 34 - 35 years of age and only relied on his brute strength and crazy speed. He rag dolled his opponent for about 1.5 minutes and if his opponent survived then he would gas out where his opponent would take over since it was an MMA fight. In the first 1.5 - 2 minutes, Mariusz was insane even slammed 340 lbs Tim Sylvia hard, but of course it did nothing since it was MMA and a lot of the impact was absorbed on the canvas. If it had been a street fight, it would be a completely different story. The guy beat up Polish mob bosses and went to jail for it.

I’m not saying Brian wins easy or he wins at all. I’m just saying people in this thread are over exaggerating Francis and downplaying Brian.

There’s plenty of footage of him trying different sports, against different athletes and he does pretty well just off pure brute size and strength.

Marisuz Pudzianowski also used to be 320 lbs in his prime (circa 2008), but now shrunk to about 265 - 270 lbs. Still a lot of weight for his height of 6'1", but is carrying way less muscle and more fat now at nearly 50. Eddie said he started shrinking when the doctor warned him of heart attack since his heart was working overtime being nearly 400 lbs at "only" 6'2" or thereabouts. So, he is now making a lot of effort to cut down and is around 330 lbs or so.

Believe it or not, Pudzianowski is 145 KG or 320 lbs here (2008) and ripped to the bones. You can see how thin his skin is and how little fat he had (fat is a huge advantage for strongmen). He competed without any significant fat on his body and won. The guy was a freak of nature

Brian Shaw always makes the most delusional statements. This is the guy who believed his fat percentage is only 18%. The guy has a huge gut sticking out with love handles and he believes he only has 18% fat because of a botched DEXA scan.

I think all that fat on his face and head is 18% of his body fat alone. When you add the rest of the fat from his derby and barse, you're looking at closer to 50% body fat ratio.

Lol you really think a strongman who is slow as hell is gonna fcking hit Ngannou before Ngannou lands a bomb on his chin??. If he tries to throw punches with Ngannou hes getting KOed quickly lol wtf are talking about? He would have to try to tackle Francis to not get killed quickly lol.

I really think Brian has a chance in MMA against Francis. Not saying he will win but just like Francis has a punchers chance in most of his fights. Brian has a chance to avoid a KO, get in and grapple. In which scenario, Francis has no real technical ability.

UFCs HW division has no luck at all lol.

Barnett, Randy, Hunt and Francis all left under dubious circumstances, with a dreadful Tim Sylvia reign in there. Cain JDS 1 ending in 64 seconds on the FOX debut, couldn't get Fedor, Cro Cop got RHK'd before he could fight for a title, Cain getting tapped in Mexico, and the DC Stipe trilogy jamming up the works for 2+ years and effectively used up all of what was left of both of their careers

And that's all before the Jon Tom debacle.

And even after all that, the UFC 1, UFC HW, Pride, and Strikeforce linear titles all sit with Francis.

LOL he has no fcking chance. I would mayve agree if we're talking about any WW or under. Francis is a big MF. He probably gets close to 300 lbs and still look in shape...A strongman with no technique lol. Francis would have his way with him on the ground.

Neither Pudz, nor Eddie Hall have managed to even be as successful as Bob Sapp. And both of those guys trained for more than 6 months.
