Rip Mother Earth pretty soon.

Yea I get that we currently need oil, but IMO we should be focusing our efforts on shifting to forms of renewable of energy (solar) instead of expanding oil production. Especially given our favorable economic climate and since we aren't currently having an energy crisis.
Nuclear gets a bad rap mostly because of disasters from a few decades ago like Chernobyl and Three mile Island. But today's technology makes nuclear much safer than in those times. Also once a nuclear plant is up and running, it has no greenhouse gas emissions. IMO its a better environmental option to bridge the gap to renewable forms of energy than expanding off shore oil drilling operations.

Economics of scale. You use less fuel per ton to move goods (whether grains, iron ore, or containers holding all your iphones and imacs) then any other form of transport (excluding sail and horse drawn carriage). It is by far the most environmentally friendly way to move anything.
If you stopped world trade then the world would collapse. "Half the world would freeze and the other half would starve" is a common saying and is close to reality. You cannot replace this form of transport with plain or train. Imagine trying to move 40,000 tons of grain from Australia to China by plane as opposed to one vessel? (and it would be very environmentally unfriendly).
As of 2018, there is no economically feasible way to replace fuel with wind, turbine or solar power. I have seen patents for wind turbine powered vessels but it would not work in practice. Paying the fuel for ships is the BIGGEST expense for shipowners and the moment it is physically possible to power a ship from wind turbine or solar they will adapt over night. Every time a shipowner agrees to carry a cargo they have to calculate whether the voyage will be profitable based on fuel consumption. Once that is gone the shipowner will have a wonderful and stress free existence. However right now it is a necessity and every human being (especially Americans) rely on shipping tremendously.
You could hypothetically try and make a huge bulker or container that has sails but basic physics and knowledge of sailing tells you how dumb that idea is.
Currently the shipping industry is going through reforms that will force shipowners to make their ships more environmentally friendly, at a huge cost. This was not really necessary but the reforms went through anyway, as the industry is trying to be progressive.
People like to try and demonize everything nowadays, and some have turned on shipping despite having a very clean record with the exception of few well known disasters every 10-15 years (when was the last major oil leak from a ship? 2002 from my memory). If you really care about the environment then you should go after farm waste, which is contributing to the destruction of the oceans more than any of the trendy things tho hate nowadays.
I mean really think about that. We grow cotton here, send it to some Asia country to be processed into material, to be assembled somewhere else in asia, and then shipped back to the US for consumption. In my opinion. That is grossly inefficient and kind of disgustingly wasteful.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration on Thursday proposed opening nearly all U.S. offshore waters to oil and gas drilling, reversing protections in the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific.
The bid to expand American energy production faces objections from environmentalists, state officials and some business groups worried about spills and the potential impact on coastal tourism.
Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said the draft National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2019 to 2024 would make over 90 percent of the outer continental shelf’s total acreage available for leasing, including areas put off-limits by the Obama administration.
“We want to grow our nation’s offshore energy industry, instead of slowly surrendering it to foreign shores,” Zinke said in prepared remarks, saying the plan is part of the Trump administration’s “American Energy Dominance” agenda.

I mean, honestly. Fuck all these people. I'd hang Zinke in public.
Yawn. This is a huge blow to funding terrorism!!! Rejoice! Right, we don't want to give the saudis that sweet sweet oil money right?
Yawn.
That’s because you’re a partisan slave. You can’t control your feelings against the opposition. It’s ingrained. You have no free will, you can’t think for yourself. This is so short sighted, and idiotic. Fucking scumbags. I think what's left of my civility for Republicans and the Oligarchy is gone.
OPEC demands control. Saudi and Brunei gold-plated Bentleys are a necessity.

Didn't the world literally end with the last oil spill?

Can't imagine what this is supposed to mean but I'm assuming you fucked at some pointYou know what happened to the last dude that yawned at me in crotch shot???
