Media BREAKING: Sean OMalley, fighter who just lost the title, admits nothing was wrong, no injuries, no excuses, best weight cut and camp he had

I didn't have a "plan" you nimrod.

I said if he beat Merab, then beat Umar, and Topuria he would enter the GOATness echelon.

I picked Merab to win.
A guy who got a robbery decision against Petr Yan and you planned out a path for him to become GOAT. Get real.

He was a paper champ and you couldn’t stop pumping him up

You picked Merab to win but still charted out a plan for Sean to become a GOAT given his matchup history and the robbery against Yan? Lul okay sure

I also thought the Yan decision was a bad one.

And to say "If Sean wins fight x, y, z he would enter GOATness territory" is not to make a "plan" nor to think he would accomplish that.

I picked Merab to win, and would have picked Umar to win as well.

like bro you can't make an excuse and then say its not really an excuse.

Sure you can. Fighters do that shit all the time.

"Hey you know me, I don't make excuses... but I had a bad weight cut, I had a knee injury so I couldn't do cardio in camp, the ref was rooting for the other guy, my dog had diarrhea this week, Whole Foods stopped carrying my favorite brand of coconut water.

But, you know... no excuses."

Feels like every champ that loses their belt in recent times had an injury we hear about weeks, months later. Wasn't focused because of _____ had a rough _____. Blah blah blah refreshing to hear an ex champ admit they just got beat and no excuses. I dont like Sean but props to him. Hespect.

Except he let it be known that he is going for surgery for a torn labrum in his hip. Not really No Excuses is it? He put it out on some Youtuber's Youtube thing. Doesn't have to publicize that but he did. That means its an excuse.

I don’t get it. Do you think he’s faking the surgery?

No, but I think he def thinks it affected the fight, and I think announcing it like this and then doing the whole BUT this isn't enough excuse looks incredibly corny. But what else would be expected from a guy who has a podcast with his coach so they can talk about themselves?

Maybe he said it just because he knew a lot of people were going to give them respect for it. Could also be true, but the guy really has nothing better to respond with that would play in his favor, this is literally the best strategic move so I’ll give him props for being smart enough to know that.

Good for him.

I gave shit to Sean for the UFC fixing his fights but he's grown on me the last month. Nothing against him personally. His relationship with his daughter is cool and I appreciate his honesty here. Hope he comes back better and gets hugs from his little girl in the meantime.

You have a Belal AV.
he must have lost a bet or something.

its refreshing to hear no excuses. i dont expect any of these guys to admit “he’s a better fighter, i’ll never beat him, time to hang em up.” not having an excuse is the closest you’ll get.
