News BREAKING: Jamahal Hill injured (ruptured achilles), relinquishes LHW title

More like, he wasn't a real Champion.

Hill be a 42-year-old aging fighter, who quit to the real Champion.

That doesn't make you "a Champion," it makes you a contender.
Especially since Jiří never lost, he himself only suffered an injury.

The UFC had no right to rescind Jiří Procházka's title.

The truth is, Jiří Procházka is the lineal Champion.

If the world were fair, the UFC should reinstate his Champion status, and he should fight the winner of Alex x Jan in his next title defense.
Glover was seconds away from beating Jiri and Hill demolished him. He is absolutely a real champion

IMO they should upgrade Jan-Pereira to a title fight, Jan has already proven himself a champion-caliber fighter so him in an even-odds fight is a legitimate title matchup

And if someone else like Jiri, Jamahal, or Ankalaev is more deserving, they can prove it by fighting the winner for the belt
At this point, everything is a bit skewed for the division anyway, so they might as well make the Jan/Pereira fight for the title while none of them two are injured ...

There's no perfect solution alas, I know Alex getting a LHW TS after a brutal loss in MW wouldn't please everyone, but it would be obvious, anyway, that the next champ would have to prove himself by defending once or twice before having some "real" legitimity as a champ ... That said, they could also wait a bit more ; but that would add some more interest to the Alex fight.

Crazy situation, that really sucks o_O

Just saw this news, that's rough man.

Smith vs Reyes can place hold the belt until Jiri is ready to get it back I guess... might be their only chance at finally winning one lol

Feel bad for the guy.

But LHW has been straight garbage since Jon left to HW.

At this point, just have a LHW tournament, we've had like 6 different guys fight for a vacant belt at this point.

That's suck for a good guy.

Having said that, the LHW and HW division are garbage anyways. I don't care much.

Much respect to Hill for allowing the division to move on. That isn't easy to do, and very few fighters would do that. Hope he heals quickly

Jamahal and Jiri are both great guys, doing the honorable thing

Whenever Jamahal comes back give him an instant title shot. Get well soon brother.

This guy who was knocked dead in his last fight should be fighting for a belt in his LHW debut? The bias in some of you Pereira fans is ridiculous, clearly not many care about the meritocracy of the sport.

They're both former champions. No one else makes sense right now.

I'm rooting for and predicting Blachowicz to win, but Vegas says that Jan-Pereira is pretty much a 50-50 fight. Jan beat Reyes to win the belt, defended it against Izzy, and made it a draw against Ankalaev. So Jan vs any equal odds opponent is a real title fight

And it's tough to be too meritocratic seeing as Jamahal won the title being #7 in the division against 43y/o Glover while everyone more deserving was sidelined for the most absurd reasons
