You have to think about how Schaub defines the word, "friend." In his world, friends are people who can better his social media reach, and then there are homeless cats. In that respect, Carwin is a friend about whom Schaub could cry on video and post it for views. So, yeah, he and Carwin are friends. Schaub wasn't lying.
