Brandin Cooks = Desean Jackson

Brees is so criminally under appreciated. It boggles the mind.

The guy's standard is 5,000 yards a season. Think about that. If he stays healthy he passes Peyton this season as the all time yardage leader. Doing so on pretty weak teams his entire career.

I dont take anything away from Brady, I think with combining his stats and accomplishments he is the GOAT. But if all things were equal, Im taking Brees.

Meanwhile, Brady ranks damn near 1st in everything else, including the only thing that really matters: wins & rings.

Taken together, this is like arguing that Harden could replace Jordan if only he had Phil and the Bulls because he has a higher True Shooting %.
Rings need to be taken with a grain of salt. There is a lot of shit QB play that has won rings.

Back to the thread, Id like to again address that Djax and Cooks arent similar lol.

Why do you say that? Other than the fact that djax is a little taller and has better hands, i think they're usage will be similar. Djax is Cooks' ceiling.

Cooks is a slot receiver that can eat you alive in space with YAC, blow the doors off stretching the field, and runs good routes. He does it all.

Djax is basically just a good deep threat.

Give me Steve Smith comparison for Cooks over Djax.

I can't follow you there. Smith was about the same height, but he had much better hands, and he would fight the defender for the ball and win. Dude was tough as nails. Old school, not afraid of contact, like Hinze Ward. Him and Anquan Bolden might have been the last 2 guys like that in the league and now they're both gone. He played much bigger than his size.

Cooks on the other hand can't break a tackle to save his life. Might as well be a flag football player. You spit on the guy and he falls down.

Hes not as mean as Smith but youre criminally underrating Cooks toughness, and their skillset is very similar. Hes very willing to make the tough catches, and he does catch them more often than not.

Fair enough. Maybe I'm equating breaking tackles with toughness and shouldn't be.

He does suck at breaking tackles, but that's not as important for a WR as fighting through contact to catch the ball, which he obviously can do judging from your examples.

Do you at least agree that he's overrated and at best will be a WR2 this year?

Drew Brees has the best completion percentage in history, 66.6%, the number of the beast.

It's proof that he sold his soul to Satan in order to become a better QB than Brady.

Of course, Satan tricked him, by putting Brady on a legendary team, giving him Superbowl rings, a supermodel wife, and by making everyone act like Brady's the best despite what the data shows.

Brees was put on a shitty team where he is underappreciated and cursed with a hideous birthmark on his face.

Also, proven fact that New Orleans has more souls sold to the devil per captia than any other metro area globally.

Overrated how? For fantasy purposes Id be a little skeptical, but I think hes a legit #1 wr.

Mostly overrated in fantasy, since that's where most of his hype is coming from.

My skepticism for him comes from having never played with them, and how in tune Brady is with Gronk/Edelman.

But I think he gets an easy 1100/5. Id say thats his floor honestly.
